    Default Super Rares

I think it would be fun to meet the occasional over-powered monster in a slayer area. A fiend-blood troll in the Cerulean Hills, a beholder in searing heights, a dragon in the fens. They would be limited to the single instance, so the party could either call in reinforcements or flee, giving up the extra treasure chest. Or (gasp!) use a little PnP intelligence to tackle it.

From a coding viewpoint, this shouldn't be difficult. Just add some very-low probability entries in some tables?

Bad idea, much more powerful mob than party, would mean instant party wipe.
    No need for it, IMO.

agree, because then you're just going to have 1 person hold instance, while everyone gets their 20s, then that 1 person can switch to his 20.

    Default How silly of me..

of course, EVERYBODY has 20s waiting around to rescue their alts, and regularly cycle them in to prevent a relief from boredom. And, there SHALL be no surprises anywhere in the carefully memorized maps, that might lead to fun.

I like this idea, maybe also make it so it spawns in (semi) random locations

Were only here to win and hate surprises!

Sounds fun though party wiping on a rare would be upsetting

I'd love to see a Young Black Dragon spawn in the Fens or the lich Raiyum in the Sands.

Maybe a Giant in Korthos Island?

    A Blue Dragon in Gianthold?

    Talking Public areas

I'd rather the spawns were in the public areas, like they came through some sort of door, or rift.

Watch the low-level toons run and the multiple TRs swarm as a devil squad re-appears in the marketplace or a huge orthon breaks down the gates and enters Meridia.

Great idea for the super rares but make them timed so that you could not call in level 20's for assistance but make the rares 2-4 levels above the highest party member. after 3-4 minutes of activation they leave the area and thus the chance of extra xp and treasure.. this could cause a wipe but it could also teach players that sometimes its good to RUN!!!!! but to the victors come the spoils..

Or people might have to use their brains like in PnP and decide if they are going to engage it or not. I remember times when all of a sudden off on the horizon we would see a (insert something that would almost definately kick our butts.... but maybe if we tried.....) and then we either came up with a brilliant plan and had one of those ultimate moments when everyone ends up watching the dust settle saying OMG WE DID IT XD , or we run and hide with our tails between our legs.

We dont all play barbarians just because we see a mob doesnt mean we have to attack it.

    Walking around in Amrath

    "A wild Suulo appears"

    *Screen Wipe*

    THROW ULTRA BALL

    SUULO is captured

Would you like to give your Suulo a nickname?

This post wasn't meant to go this way.

If its implemented as described in OP, that there is absolutely no chance on even dealing 1 point of damage to this kind of monster, as it will have to high saves, AC, evasion etc, and it will one or 2 hit everyone in party, so the only way would be bringing some overlevel character, try to avoid mob, or recall and regroup.

I like the idea in theory. Would be interesting to put some excitement into the wilderness areas with monsters like this. My only caveat would be that it should spawn in such a way that it is possible to choose whether or not to engage it. That way if you want to give it a go, you're free to, but if you don't feel up to it you don't have to risk a wipe.
