Default What are some good low-level monk gear for fast leveling?

Looking for suggestions on what gear to stock up on before I TR my barb into a monk. Reasoning behind each would be appreciated.

If you have Red Fens, you can occasionally get a bound to account Robe of Invulnerability ml 2. Another really nice item to have is Charged Gauntlets out of Chronoscope. Nice extra damage ml 5.

Get a nice pair of handwraps and you can be completely naked until like level 10 and you won't even notice. Monk attack speed and ki strikes and nice bursting handwraps make such a big difference at low levels. I'd be more worried about making sure you have good things available for mid and late levels.

What sort of monk? Pure? Light or dark? Will you have AC? Will you be high-wis/stunning?

Try to get a few different types of handwraps to start

+1 (element) or pure good (lv 4+) (even better if you can get frost or icy burst on it)
these wraps will last a surprisingly long time before you have to swap them out for anything. I find shock the most useful, but it will depend on what quests you tend to run.

+X Holy of pure good (lv 6+)
I use these for specific quests or chains where neutral mobs are at a minimum. Tangleroot and Delera's come to mind

    Vampiric Stonedust Handwraps (lv 12+)
You probably won't really need to stun much until you're at level to use these anyway and your survivability just jumps up when you start using them.

    3 pc abashi set (lv 5 - 9 approx)
gloves, bracers, cloak is a good set. You'll be pretty much set on con and str boosts until the mid levels

Red Fens Siren set (lv 7+)
I use these from level 7 straight up until cap on my TR monks who care about AC at all. You could easily use them until level 18 then swap into ToD sets if you have them.

Red Fens Sacred set (lv 7+)
This is more of a personal preference. Wisdom +4 at level 7 in the ring slot is the main draw, but also deathblock starts to become useful at this point. You won't need your helm slot for anything more important until Minos at level 11 anyway. The boost to your healing spells could actually have some use if you're light monk and use your finisher, but it's certainly not the main reason to use the set.

    Icy Raiment (lv 14+)
Not as useful if you aren't focused on AC but great if you do.

    Garments of Equilibrium (lv 12+)
Alternative to Icy. It's hard to top this unless you need AC. You could still be wearing this far into the endgame.

I'm sure there's more I'm not thinking of right now, but these items can get you through to level 14 or so without having to look for too much else. Try to find some greater bane wraps for undead, construct, etc to use after level 12 or so or hope that crafting gets fixed so you can get some good wraps that way.

but a good set of disruptors and smiters are great. True law works well as a GCB/Smiter prefix for just about all constructs except maurats

I also find the fernia handwraps from Threnal to be nice at low levels. Gives your triple fire finisher a nice boost for frying bunches of kobolds at once.

Fernia Wraps - (Weapon) +2 Handwraps, Flaming Burst, Reflex Save +3, Path of the Fire Dragon, no ml.

You can craft invulnerability on a robe or outfit and it will have ML 1.

Fernian Wraps from Threnal are good

Mantle of the Worldshaper ML 5 plus Voice of the Master ML 5 give you true seeing at low level

Craft +2 stat items ML 3

    Abishai Set ML 5

Jidz-teka (or whatever) bracers +5 armor plus boost based on stance. ML 5

Feather falling ring (craftable at ML 1 or ring of feathers)

Underwater action ring (craftable ML 5)

That should get you easily through the low levels.

    Named Items:

Mantle of the Worldshaper/Voice of the Master - Very high priority. It’s bonus XP and a Trueseeing setbonus that you can use at level 5.

Tier II Silver Flame Amulet - Priority if you’re a fleshy. It’s nice to have for running stuff like VoN3.

Devout Handwraps - *Really* nice to have, but don’t try to kill yourself getting them. They are the lowest level metalline handwraps in DDO. (Level 8) Which is nice for breaking construct DR. (You can hunt for them while you make a Tier II Silver Flame Amulet)

Charged Gauntlets/+2 other items trifecta - Good stuff for level 5 gear. (That you probably already have in spades.) Also gives a nice stat boost.

Jidz-Tet'ka - Really nice if you’re going Harminous Balance on your monk. +25% healing amp stacks real nice with Monk Improved Recovery/Fists of Light.

Vampiric Stonedust Handwraps - Probably the nicest handwraps you will find in DDO outside of Risian imbued stunners. Also, they’re pretty easy to get.

Crystal Cove Trinkets: - various high level bonuses with a ML: 4 item.

    Generic/Crafted items:

Some sort of Holy/Pure Good Handwraps - Great general purpose mob beaters.

If you have a arcane crafting level somewhere in the 40's you can find some small/medium guild augment items and do stuff like Lifeshield Outfits of Invulnerabilty with bonus fortification, +4 Stat rings with bonus Hit points, +2 to hit goggles, etc.
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

Definately get a char that is in the 40s for crafting. It really benefits low level chars witht he items you can craft. Blindness immune attack +2 goggles (ML 9 and 5 without BI), robe of invul (1), Bloodrage/Invuln Robe can be fun (ML 7). Mid level there is lots of good options. Not mentioned above are Boots of Innocent from Vol, Robe of Ice, Ethereal Bracers, forget the name but there are ML11 boots that give 20 stride 10 balance that I wear alot.

Good suggestions abound... But the best gear to stock up on for fast lvling is the Major Experience Elixir
