    Default Arty/Rogue

    What is the viability of a Arty/Rogue?
    I was thinking a build that focuses on ranged combat with a little support and as little aggro attraction as possible.
    Will this kind of approach work with WF?
    Any build ideas already out there i should look at?

    Unless mechanic 1 and the arty spell stack for damage purposes it isnt really viable as a minimum of 6 levels rogue locks out 6th level spells like bladebarrier which is huge for arties.

    Most combinations I've seen have gone for Art 14/ Rogue 6 for Evasion and Mechanic I. Eladrin originally said that the Insightful Damage infusion would stack with the Mechanic's Int to damage, but he has since said that they don't stack in the current implementation and he's still considering whether to change it or not.

    In any case, it still might be worthwhile because you could use another personal infusion as well or use the infusion that allows the use of Int for to hit and dump Dex for Int and Insightful Reflexes.

    I tried a version of this on Lammania and got him up to level 9. Running solo on Elite, with Korthos gear and the occasional hireling didn't present any real problems. One tactic I liked to use was to stealth up to a group of mobs and have my Iron defender attack. Then I could unload on whichever was most dangerous from up close. With Point Blank Shot, Sneak Attack and later Endless Fusilade, it was very effective.

    My guy was a Human, but WF should be just as effective and would have better self healing. The problem with Aggro is that the Rogue enhancements only work with melee attacks. I'm not sure about Tharnes and the like. As for the rest of it, I'd wait for a little more information from Lammania and maybe try out a few builds there. There's still so much in flux about Artificers that I'd hesitate to suggest a detailed build.

    really if i don't plan to go full art.. i would just go rogue instead.. since the key feature of art is pet.. and when you splash art you get lower level pet and likely to lose capstone(enhanement atleast)

    really a artficier without pet is not much better then rogue.. unless you are wf..then thats a different story.

    I say just go 2 rogue, if you want evasion, seeing it is part of the reason. Also be sure about this decision, Artificers don't have the best reflex, so make sure you'll be able to make a high enough save for it to be worh it.

    To be honest, the build I'd go for is a Half Elf Rogue 20 with Artificer Dilettante, or else Artificer 18 / Rogue 2.

    The classes have too many similarities to synergize well in multiclass. Especially since the few infusions you'd use can be UMD'ed in unlimited quantity off the vendors.

    Wouldnt you need dex for PS and IPS?

    which i'm still bitter rangers get it for free w/o having to invest into dex
