    Post Gear For Monks?

    im not very good at gearing my toons at all, i usually just use whatever named items look best for the toon. but then i realize how much better other monks are that are fully geared, i dont have much at all, but willing to farm a ton for what i need,
    dont hold back on what my toon could use, anything at all is okay with me if it all works out just fine with me,

    So, What is the best monk gear out there?

    Thanks in advance

    well im not sure of your build or style of play but i do sugesst getting 1 or 2 tod rings and adding holy and shocking to the rings. also the garments of equalibrim are popular now because the increase your unarmed dmg a die step. there are many other things you can use but thats at least a start you can also look up monk builds and see what they like to use to give you an idea whats out there and what you like for your monk

    well, heres a little backround.

    Life 2 level 17

    Stats:
    str 22
    dex 33
    con 17
    int 9
    wis 28
    cha 8

    ac 53
    hp 267 (low, i know. gimped him somehow)

    so i already have a +1 to die step, will they stack?

    i like to go fast but not completely zerg. lets just say i dont wait up for haste and rages.

    Well, a lot of that depends on what kind of monk you are; are you trying to get more aggro, or do you need to lose aggro? Or does it not matter?

    Some different options for gear:

    Body: Garments of Equilibrium, Icy Raiment, Dragontouched Outfit
    Head: Minos Legens, GS Helm (usually for +45 HP), Teraza's sight (Sora Kell)
    Rings: Usually DEX and WIS, eventually ToD rings, Katra's Wit instead of WIS (Sora Kell set)
    Gloves: Maenya's Fists (Sora Kell), Gloves of the Claw
    Bracers: Jidz'Teka, Bracers of the Claw, Tharne's Bracers
    Goggles: Lenses of Opportunity, Tharne's Goggles, GS Goggles
    Boots: Madstone Boots, Boots of the Innocent, Firestorm Greaves
    Trinket: Dusk Heart, The Bloodstone, Epic Gem of Many Facets
    Belt: any Greater False Life, Siren's Ward (Armor bonus on belt, don't need on bracers or body)
    Necklace: Oremi's
    Cloak: resistance, protection, epic Cape of the Roc (+2 exc STR)

    Um, play for a few months with a 20 or 2 and you can get them all, sure, but there's no reason to.

    What I am suggesting is that you decide what role you want to fill in a party and equip yourself appropriately. For example, a tankish monk would want hp gear and threat bonus (Claw set, for example), while a DPS would want damage boosts and threat mitigation (e.g. Tharne's set).

    You are a support monk, so you won't be dishing enough DPS to worry about threat, so you need more HP to begin with (400 is bare minimum for front line in late game raids), damage boosts (garments of equilibrium, Claw or Sora Kell set), and AC gear to help survivability.

    I would add to the list:

    RING: Tumbleweed (nice to have until TOD rings);

    GLOVES: Spectral Gloves (if you have the STR item in other slot or to hit ethereal mobs, since Ghost Touch is bugged in wraps);

    BRACERS: Ethereal Bracers (switch when needed to hit ethereal mobs);

    BELT: Warpriest belt from TOD gives you +2 to hit (nice to have the situation calls out for more to-hit)

    NECKLACE: Shintao Chord (specially usefull if you have the set. If not, I would go with Oremis).

    The introduction of silver threaded wraps (w/ crafting) makes this less important, or uber, I guess, but the wraps dropping in Shadow Crypt are a really nice addition: M of PG, helping you get past DR. I have a set on my monk splash toons.

    While others can give you more specific gear and such, the basics are +6 in almost all stats (i.e. STR, CON, WIS, DEX). An Amrath belt with +6 CON and GFL is nice. Full Fort and Toughness using Minos. Tharnes set for GT, TS, A/C and a few other bonuses. GS HP item. Icys for A/C.

    Hope this helps.
