Unsure on a stick build with the majority in monk, but here is a build that many use, It also includes many variations.

If you want a stick build, you really want to go thief acrobat.

Monks can use sticks but they are almost always better off unarmed, except possibly at low levels when glancing blows are useful when surrounded by kobolds.

Thief Acrobat gives you both a permanent speed boost with sticks, and the 60 second clickie Showtime that stacks.

not that I would recommend it but if you want a q-stick monk you are going to want to go Earth stance for the crit multiplier boost and roll with a Rahl's Might with the X3 multiplier to get the big crits.

heavy str , THF chain, half orc for +STR & THF bonus damage & other half orcy stuff.

    Edit:

but yeah , thief acrobat is the way to go with a stick build, but if you just want flavor a q stick pure monk could be fun and reasonably effective but you will get a few strange looks and or comments.
Move along , Nothing to see here

My own stick build will be a half orc 12monk/7rogue/1fighter once capped.. thief acrobat 1 for some speed boost & earth stance 3 for the extra multiplier, turning that humble stick into a pretty effective x3 weapon, or a d10/x4 if you have a rahls might, which makes it better base damage & faster attack speed than using a maul - ran with a pure monk a while back who was using that & getting more damage than using fists, though that was presumably cos he didnt yet have ToD rings etc.

For trade-off vs. a more rogue-centric one, you'll have better overall saves (monks get full progression) but slightly less vs. traps, less sneak attack damage (with some skillpoint investment in bluff & taking unblanacing strike it'll be able to apply fairly often at least) but better damage potential on crits while fighting upfront with aggro, you'll also have more HP (space for extra toughness feats if desired plus more CON from earth stance) & a handy 6/- DR (maybe also some energy resistance from monkey path) which can negate a nice amount of incoming damage overall, especially from ranged attacks. You can also go shintao for the healing curse, extra buffs & smite/jade strike/dismissing strike, or ninja spy for some more sneak attack damage & shadow fade to give that handy incorporeal miss chance.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

Even with fists monks are not as good DPS as other melees, and you will not do as good DPS as fists with a quarterstaff. I think you will be very disappointed especially in your boss DPS if you go from fighter to staff monk. This is not to say that staff monks don't have their perks, but considering it was your only question in the OP I assume it is relatively important to you.
