Default Augment Summoning or dont join.

Tried to join a Hound earlier on a bard. Was told if I dont have augment summoning I cant join. Then when I explained we used to run this on elite, the excuse I was given for this was that theres alot of f2p who dont know whats up.

So the fact that he invited 8 questionable people before me means I have to gimp a perfectly good build to take a feat that we never had when we ran the same raid undermanned on elite back in 08 regularly.

Ive since walked to the corner store and back before posting this, and the LFM is still up, heh.

Getting pretty weak Sarlona. Youll have to do better.

    Funlarious.

Although I admit, it will be nice to get a free Augment Summoning from Epic Roddy's Wand in U11. Situational, but not bad to have.

Yeah from all the people who I know who play multiple servers it does seem that Sarlona pugging is the most 'interesting' in the short yellow bus way.

I love pugging on Sarlona because of the quality of players vary so randomly. It's most fun when there group has one or two well known strong players and a bunch of unaffiliated first adventurers.

Not everyone enjoys that...but as challenge goes, Sarlona PUGs keep the game fresh for me.

That sucks, Chai. Amusing though that they didn't fill. You were probably better off not running with them.

Isn't there an item that grants Augment Summoning? Or, perhaps, am I remembering a epic item upgrade discussion for Epic Roderic's Wand?

The update 11 form of Epic Roderic's Wand.

I personally would not waste a feat on Augment Summoning, but I will happily make that wand once u11 hits on my Bard.

And I agree, better off not running with them.

If the puppy "charmer" has Augment Summoning, it effects them as it would any summonable pet. They are augmented upon charm. Helps them stay up, pluses to stats, etc.

...I think we might have found a new popular alternative to bards for hound charmers when artificers arrive then?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

    interesting.

Now that raid has been run regularly since it was put in game... and as we went straight from 16 to 20 in Level cap... it was run regularly with LVL 16 Characters that didn't have any epic gear...

IMHO you've been saved a lot of trouble.
On G-Land : Flavilandile, Blacklock, Yaelle, Millishande, Larilandile, Gildalinde, Tenalafel, and many other...

This has to be one of the best turned down for a pug cos of ...."....." I think Ive seen in a loooong time.

I agree with the rest here, you realy shouldnt run with raid leaders that request this kinda thing.

They do know its only +4 right? Which is what in the puppys case? +2 damage, +12 hp?

Bah, they REALLY did you a favor.

I flat-out refuse to run HoX on my bards if they're having me charm the puppies. Short of a toon having augment summoning there's absolutely no point to a bard being the one charming. Given that bards don't have sprint boosts or improved run speed they're NOT the right toon to be running those crystals. Also given that they'll be the primary person buffing and it makes even less sense for the bard to charm (since they could start buffing the first charmed dog while the additional ones are still uncharmed if they're not doing the charming).

People can run their HoX runs however they want. I'm sitting on a 20 warchanter that would be great for buffing the dogs in HoX though and I've never run it for the simple reason that it's not worth the hassle to put up with the stupid. I respond to every blind tell of "HoX?1?!?" with "Who's charming?". I normally don't get a message back and the one time they said, "You would be" I just sent back a no thank you.

Why do people always have the Bard charm anyways? I never knew the reasoning behind that.

There used to be a belief that the Charm has a save DC, and that it was based off of the Charmer's Charisma. So, Bards, then Sorcs, then Paladins, etc... for charming the dogs.

Also, the Bard is kind of natural for it because of the fact they have so many combat-related buffs. They can Invis/Shadowwalk themselves, grab the stones quickly while everyone else fights the Renders, hop in, Charm, and IC/GH/Haste/UMD Mass Bears/Bulls/Cat's before heading back outside to help the rest of the group, or help backup heal the dogs, whatever.
