Well, I think the point will make itself with more players when parties/raids who are used to splitting up with a FvS in the party/raid as the healer, and members start dropping dead in runs more frequently after the next update, and hear "Sorry; I'm on LoF cooldown".
I still really do not like the nerf; I see no real point to it, and have heard no offical explaination as to why it is even necessary or what it is supposed to be fixing.
But at least they listened and allowed it to be used again unrestricted in non-combat areas. The LoF non-combat restriction was a simply terrible idea, on top of another really bad one in my books.
This is why making changes to popular game content should, and generally is, given more then the 48 hours the Dev team initially spent on it this time, from conception to decided and modified.
I am happy that I can make it more then 1/3 across the harbor once again on my FvS before needing to rest my "Leap of faith" ability.
►►► I SURVIVED THE ENDLESS BANNING EVENT OF 2010 ◄◄◄
Nerfing player mobility in fights had to be done, I'm happy that it's been done in a way that keeps Leap of Faith as a potent escape ability and a good way to zip around town.
I don't have a zerging problem.
I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.
This is the part that really ticks me off it is just not that over powered not really. A few of you really hard core players figure out how to abuse lof and the rest of us get punished for it this is utter bs. I have play my fvs as my main since i started this game a little over a year ago i do not abuse my wings this Nerf just hurts me its bull.
If it is not that overpowered, then why are people going to TR into something else because of the change?
I'm not quite sure that this is the hardcore gamers who ruined it, you have people in threads saying, "Who is going to kite sulu around while we kill Horoth?" Hardcore gamers kill Sulu on all settings. . .and Hardcore gamers can kite Sulu with any Class if for some bizarre reason they need to, they just use a little strategy.
Anyway, I mainly used my wings in town, and even in Dungeons that I solod like Sins, I'll be fine with the change as I never flew around that much.

To answer your question i want to be able to solo that is why i have 3 fvs projects right now. With the wings you can test your zerging and if you bite off more then you can chew you do have a way to escape that's the combat affect. Ok so that's op fine if every one including the devs think so so be it but i still want to solo and i know for a fact that a wf sorc can solo just as well as my fvs may have to kill more stuff but so what they can one shot most mobs anyway. I can be self suffeicent. I use the wings to keep up with zerging party members with my wings gone and for all intents and purposes they may as well be i can not do that any more. I made my favored soul cause i do not like waiting on groups or walking slow like a cleric. That would be groups waiting on me. Making me go slower gives me little options but to tr into something faster and hasted wf sorc with tons of surviblity is.
Those saying wings are op bs My wings are not the problem the dots you released in update ten are. You want to fix the real issues great but my wings are not the real issue.
I'd like to think this is an admission by the DEVs that they screwed up. Instead, I think it was more like the implementation of a strategic plan to beat someone to a pulp, take their wallet, and then pull out a $10 and leave it on their chest so they'll feel grateful and thank you for your generosity.
The wing nerf was, and still remains, beyond excessive.
Turbine has impressed me with their programming ability to change the leap of faith to an ability that acts differently in town than it does in dungeons.
so...
it makes the nerf that should be done, easy...as I now know they have the capability to do this.
Wings go back to being chargeless 5sp or 10sp per use. When harried or chained, they do not work at all.
Every major raid boss had a dream that the Truthful One gave to them...he taught them how to create high gravity around their being. So, all major raid bosses now throw out a high gravity spell that prevents all leaps of faith, abundant steps, and wind dances while in their proximity.
No more wing kill-kiting bosses (I still will give money to someone who can tell me where this happens besides demon queen)
but I still get to use the wings as an ADHD OCD gamer that loves speed. When I have to run 175 demon queens to get just one epic chaos blade, I don't look forward to the next 175 DQs, those wings really do make a difference in my mind...even if they aren't much of an advantage in reality.
This is the perfect nerf. Why do anything else?
I won't stop spewing propaganda in my groups that I run each day on the live server. For every 12 people in a raid group that I tell them about the nerf that's planned, many times no one in the group knows but sometimes 1 person in 12 will know about the upcoming nerf. After 3 days of doing this, that average is about 3 per group of 12. Out of hundreds of people that really dislike the change, only 2 people have said they don't mind. So, I will keep telling people on the live servers and after enough people flood lamannia maybe we can get the perfect nerf. We won't see every favored soul quit, but I think it's safe to say at least 1 in 10 will TR to different class or quit the game. Seems like a high price for not doing the perfect nerf.

Turbine has impressed me with their ability to engage in never-ending radical changes to gameplay. I'd like to see them get things right the first time a little more often. Constantly introducing stuff only to nerf it later (sometimes years later and often at the cost of lots of Shroud ingredients) is just poor development. This game feels like it's in permanent beta.
Uhm, alright i'm a little confused: what's the situation with wings right now? After this last update what are the reasons of those against the change?
I use my Cleric more to solo than my FVS. . .And it has always been this way even before DOTS. You can solo on any class, my Dex finesse ranger can solo just about anything in game besides raids.
A flash PM can also solo everything, and they are awesome tanks in raids. . .perhaps you just need to learn more things about the game.
