    Default cookies and temp folders

I clean out my computer once a month and have discovered a week later that my game has completely disappeared. Meaning, I have the game completely downloaded and get on no problem. But everything I have done, the character selection and playing an hour or two of the game are gone. So, does this mean I can never clean out my temp folder and cookies ever? If this is the case, then I guess there is no reason to play this game because I am cleaning out my system once an month and starting over is a drag. Thank you the answers and it was nice playing. Too bad it has to be this way.

There is no permanent character information of any kind stored on your local computer. I frequently performvarious maintenance tasks on my computer with no problem at all.

If you mean you have gone in and played for a couple of hours, then come back later and do not see your work saved, I suggest it is because you have not selected the same remote game server that you last did your gaming on. I did this myself when I first stated DDO. I created my first character on the "Cannith" server and on my second visit I did not realize I had picked a different server, and for a few minutes couldn't find my characters.

So when you launch DDO be sure to pick the server you last played on. The menus will usually default to it. If for some reason you got on a different server, just launch DDO and pick a new server until you find the one with your character on it. The other thing to watch out for is to be sure you used the same player account that you used before.

I assume you DDO does save your character and player progress!

    Hi jnss0131

Ensure when you launch DDO there is no tick in the box 'enter last played world'

Hopefully you only have one account correct?

Then look to see the world you played on:

The one that didn't have your character will be at the top of the list so choose the next one down.

No, as My2Cents has stated it's all stored on the servers so it's just a matter of locating the world you were on, and then once you are sorted I would advise ticking that box in the launcher so you always return to that correct world.

Check the account you are using - there are 8 worlds only.

I found it. I am not sure how I reversed my user name and then couldn't find it. I guess that is when I realized I didn't know that I reversed it and the passwords didn't work. I found the correct user name, wrote it down and now I am back in action. Boy do I feel stupid. Thank you for all the advice. Now I am off to figure out how this game works. Interesting to say the least.

No need to feel stupid, we've all done something like that at some point - just glad you figured it out and now you're all set!

Most of what little I've learned has come about because I've seriously messed something up and had to learn how to fix it.
