    I'd say that wings have two parts.
    • Convenience of spam casting, which the boots do not give
    • Ability to reach areas that others may not have reached to easily, which the boots do give.

    It's not that the boots are OP. It's that Turbine has begun taking unique class aspects and giving them to everyone. They did it recently by allowing artificers to get DR breaking infusions like the Paladin Capstone and almost had the artificer ability to buff arcane spells at 20 minutes from scrolls. Each time Turbine does this, they take something away from the original class. In some cases, it's just the uniqueness of being able to fly around, in others, it's 35 damage per swing that a barbarian is now getting with a DR breaking eSoS.

    It's starting to take away from the flavor of the game, imho, and could be a precedent leading to things like Evasion potions or Bard song clickies. If enough of these get out, playing one class won't be much different than playing another.

    I'd like to point out that the items related to this update were coded well before the Devs decided to change the nature of Leap of Faith.

    So really, the topic/premise of this discussion is rather flawed. After all "Then this, first a wing nerf?" Doesn't make a lot of sense.

    Also, the Dev Team who created this item, and the Dev Team who changed this class feature, really only have a water cooler in common with one another. Not much else.

    so i have to wonder fvs wing was nerfed for being op but yet this item was based and still is based on a over-powered ability and so i wonder if wings were nerfed shouldn't this item then be nerfed as well to stay in proportion with the ability that is now nerfed ?

    How can you wing kite while doing massive dmg via DP to the Lord of Blades with 1 clicky per 10 minutes?

    Wings were nerfed because of their spam-able ability to kite bosses around, this item does not have that property.

    lol oky sure but what im saying was im sure this was taken into account yes ?

    if so then the spamability or "x" was taken into account when making the item so 10 mins was cetain% to x time wise but now x has become "y" so should the 10 min be changed to reflect or increase das that is what it would mean to remain the same %

    i mean 10 mins = a certain % of x
    but that % now has changed becuase x is now y instead of x

    I Highly doubt that any of this was taken into account. 10min cooldown is long enough.

    Actually, DDoor from abundant step was more useful than fly due to anybody and their momma getting flying before FvS get to level 17.

    EDIT: Also, DDoor was probably best mobility enhancher in PnP... just like wings in DDO currently, actually, but better (you could teleport anywhere within certain range - which was longer than current LoF range)

    FvS had there wings clipped? good, anything that makes the game into easy mode is well overdue a fix (note i didnt say nerf).

    Not only that but I have also seen many FvS "Cheat" certain dungeons thanks to wings, avoiding quest objectives and such which I find totally wrong. My concern here is that while they are clipping wings they are also giving the cheat mode to everyone with these boots which is likely to cause either them to get nerfed (hopefully not) or the dungeons to be fixed (hopefully).

    On a side note, why is it that FvS are complaining more about this? monks dont seem to worry much and air savant sorcerers even less (although the latter only recently had it and could switch it out for something else with a few respec's)? Is it that the class is flawed in some other way that FvS feel that wings is the only thing that defines them or provides them with a role in the end game?

    Not having played a FvS to end game yet I'm a little confused by this whinning about the wing change. if this is the case perhaps the wings change will highlight to the devs the uselessness of FvS as people TR them into clerics, paladins or something else.

    As an avid Monk player, and also I enjoy the FvS class, I have to admit I love technology more -- and these boots deliver.

    I wont mind if more so-called 'class' abilities get attached to more tech-related items. Bring 'em on! Enough swords and shields, let's get into the Might and Magic style late-game blaster rifles and Annihilator robots!

    I'm sort of surprised its 10 minutes between uses for those boots. Seems sorta long. Does it refresh at Shrines?

    LOL Dash boots from Mega Man X. I even asked if there was going to be some dash boots, back when it was first shown that the Artificers get a Rush and a Mega Buster.

    I'm just now happy that my Bard is now exactly like a FVS. Seriously, whining about this is much akin to a cleric taking heal pots to task. Or a wizard complaining about a jump clicky. Look at it this way, someone can back you up when you hit your LOF to a spot.

    Ofc, it all makes sense now, devs were clipping fvs wings to power up these boots.

    Now only question is, are they powered by feathers or tears of the mourning favored souls.

    And even if they make more of such items (like someone said, which I think is unlikely) I can assure I have better use for my backpack then carrying a bazillion wing clickies LOL. I can only agree with the wings nerf, and I think the clickie wasn't really needed but it's still a very nice addition, 10 mins cooldown is fine.

    I wonder how far a monk with these on can go, using it in combination with abundant step. And with some practice you can make some nice around the corner jumps ^^.
