If he wrote his tickets like he wrote this post the GM might not have known what he talking about.

Sounds like the GM understood what happened, but failed to pass on the relevant advice.

The main question is: why youd didn't locked (padlock icon) an item you didn't wanted to loose?
Even if you needed to do some crafting on it, you should get habit to lock it as soon as you finish.

--i didn't know i could find it in buy back tab since i sold it to a broker.. and i wasn't annoyed anymore after i got it back.. if i didnt bother looking on buy back tab then it will expire after 24hours or be gone if i've sold more items.. the GM didnt tell me that i'll find it there since it's a bound item.. you're lucky u know about this stuff, if u didn't maybe u'll do worse more than i did.. and who wouldn't be annoyed about that after farming all those ingredients?

This kind of information should have been passed on to the customer stating please check the buy back tab at the general vendor. Not knowing the ins and outs of your product is not acceptable and requires further attention, especially a SENIOR GM. If I'm the only one that sees something wrong with this some of you are just being ignorant.

He asked for help and did not receive the best help they should be offering.

GM's will not tell you how to play the game.
Yes it sucks but I would not be suprised if them not giving advice about gameplay is written in their rules.

_so that's me being a noob! but really with the GM bit, why are they in there if they can't do anything about stuff! he doesn't even know that it should be on the vendors buy back stuff since it's a bound item-- or maybe he knows he's just too lazy to tell me? :S

--only wiki knows: "Brokers do not offer the buyback feature that ordinary vendors do. If you sell an item to a broker by accident or you change your mind about selling it, the only way to recover it is to buy it back at the broker's asking price...and hope no one else bought it first.

An exception to this is Bound items sold to brokers: since they cannot be sold to other players, they appear on the buyback tab as usual. "

It is not a GM's job to teach you how to play. It is also not their job to give back items when the loss came from a PEBKAC.

lol, glad you got your GS back. At least it didn't disappear in an Abbot raid or via the shared bank lag bug. Which you would have never gotten it back from.

Not part of their job. That is what the community, the advice channel and the forums are for. GMs are there to fix problems.

Would you call the game developper if you couldn't figure out how to shoot in a console game you just bought? No.

They have better and more important things to deal with. They are not babysitters.
