Half-Orc Faith Weapon

Um, just a dumb thought, but shouldn't half orc's faith weapon be two handed?

Half-Orc believe in Gruülg, God of Smash. Don't favor one weapon over other as long as Half-Orc can smash with it. That way prevent overpowering Half-Orc melee even further, keep puny free races and their players happy.

There are five Eberron Deities that have two-handed weapons favored (from the Eberron Campaign Setting book):

Aureon - God of Law and Knowledge (part of the pantheon of The Sovereign Host)
Favored Weapon: Quarterstaff

Dol Arrah - God of Honor and Sacrifice (part of the pantheon of The Sovereign Host)
Favored Weapon: Halberd
* Can't use as weapon doesn't exist in DDO

The Devourer (part of The Dark Six)
Favored Weapon: Trident
* Can't use as weapon doesn't exist in DDO
* The god is neutral evil and DDO has a non-evil stance for player characters

The Keeper (part of The Dark Six)
Favored Weapon: Scythe
* Can't use as weapon doesn't exist in DDO
* The god is neutral evil and DDO has a non-evil stance for player characters

The Shadow (part of The Dark Six)
Favored Weapon: Quarterstaff
* The god is chaotic evil and DDO has a non-evil stance for player characters


From other books for Eberron we also have:

Keepers of the Past
Favored Weapon: Double-Scimitar
* Can't use as weapon doesn't exist in DDO
* The belief is elven, which does nothing for a Half-Orc


So that basically leaves you with asking for the Quarterstaff from The Sovereign Host.

As far as Eberron PnP is concerned, this is what I've found:

(Book: Races of Eberron, Page 93)
Half-Orc Beliefs: Half-orcs worship the deities of humans and orcs. Many follow the Soverign Host, while half-orcs of the Eldeen Reaches and the Shadow Marches often take up the Gatekeepers' faith.

After reading this I did a quick search through the Faiths of Eberron book, and found some info on the Gatekeepers. Here's the gist of what I found.

(Book: Eberron Campain Setting, Page 241)
Members of the Gatekeepers, a druid sect dedicated to protecting nature from the unnatural, spend their lives fighting aberrations and guarding against extraplanar invasion and the release of ancient evils.

(Book: Faiths of Eberron, Pages 99-102)
... Very few Gatekeepers are Druids. Most carry the title "Hunter," and consist mainly of Barbarians, Rangers, and Scouts. They are ever vigilant against unnatural horrors. ... They favor the axe, a traditional orc weapon, and light leather armor if they wear any at all. ...


As far as DDO is concerned, not sure. The Soverign Host path is already available to all races. A Gatekeeper based faith would be awesome for Half-Orcs with a "Axes" as their chosen weapon(all axes included), but I could see this being saves for a Druid Faith based Enhancement line.

If you're looking for a specific diety and not a faith. I would assume Half-Orcs, that follow the Soverign Host, would follow Balinor "The Soverign of Horn and Hunt."(Favored Weapon: Battleaxe)

It was always amusing to me that Eberron CS used the term 'God' even for female dieties (like Dol Arrah). I don't really get why term 'Godess' is bad...

I'm not up on my Eberron lore, but aren't Vulkoor & Lord of Blades considered evil gods too? And yet not only are they options in DDO, you can have paladins who follow them, which amuses me.
