    Default Advice: Manipulation vs. deadly vs. spellcasting

    I have a 20 wiz who is an archmage. I'm using the chain missles for 6sp. I currently have as enchancements Force Manipulation maxed out and the deadly kinetics line I-IV and spell casting to III. Is it better to have a higher deadly kinetics or the way i have it or the spellcasting higher. I currently do approx 220 damage to main target and 85-90 to residual targets. I crit around 400. I hit arratreikos for 390 today in a normal shroud. Just wondering on everyones thoughts.

    Its best to have the crit chance along with manipulation and some of the crit damage ones

    Other than that, go Elec/Cold spec for Niacs Biting Cold and Eladars Electric surge spells, along with polar ray and chain lighting, currently Force spec is....bad...except for Disintegrate.

    Generally speaking, it's best to max out manipulation and at least 1 point into deadly and kinetics. After that, spellcasting (crit chance) is slightly better than deadly (crit multiplier).

    If you are tight on AP and can't max out manipulation, it becomes tricky. It's basically an optimization problem in ~6-7 variables. It depends on what gear you have and how many AP you have to spend.

    We can simplify making a few assumptions. For example: 1) you have enough AP to max out manipulation and put at least one point into deadly and spellcasting. 2) Greater arcane lore.

    a1 = crit chance from enhancements
    b1 = crit multiplier from enhancements

    A = a1 + 1.09
    B = b1 + 1.75

    Damage multiplier from crits, D = (1-A) + A*B

    (E.g., if A,B = 0 then D=1)

    max the dmg manipulation first, then crit chance, and then what you can fit in crit multiplier (at least 95%) gives the best DPS increase in that order

    If the toon is named after a beer 17 of them are mine & 1 more not named after a beer (the black sheep of the family). Beware there are a few beer imposters out there. Unless the toon has been "Banned From All Guilds" it's a fake Beer_Dude. Fake Beer in your group leaves a nasty taste.
