Default Opinions on what to do next please.

My main character is Emizand, pure assassin currently level 15 on 3rd life.

Styk is my acrobat build, currently 20, 13/6/1 rogue/fighter/monk.

So it stood to reason I needed a mechanic build for the set. I settled on a 13/6/1 split again, this time rogue/ranger (I wanted sneak attack at 80 foot)/fighter. The Fighter was just for the bonus feat.

Anyhows 'Itchi Trigger Finger' is now at level 12, 6/6 rogue/ranger split. The next level was to be fighter to take 'rapid reload' as a bonus feat. Was never going to take mech II, I considered it too much AP for too little gain. So I assume you can see where this is going. My first thought was splash one Arti instead of fighter for rapid reload, heavy repeater and great xbow. Carry on to 13 rogue for improved evasion and double strike.

After trawling the forums for a while I am now debating if I should splash Arti more deeply. Itchi is now on hold till U11 when I will buy Arti. So guys what would you do from here on in with this build?

    Itchi

    Str 16 +5 Level, +2 Tome, +6 Item, +2 Rams = 31
    Dex 17 +3 Enhancement, +2 tome, +6 Item = 28
    Con 16 +2 Enhancement, +2 Tome, +6 Item = 26
    Int 11 +1 Tome = 12
    Wis 8
    Cha 6

Reasoning for odd str is that it will be even from level 16 onwards, don’t intend to stay at 20 to long before tring and have just considered basic equipment tomes in stats. Uses D.Axe and hand axe for up close and personal.

    Feats taken so far are:-

    PBS
    Weapon Focus Ranged
    Toughness
    Improved Critical Ranged

    Feats needed:-

    Rapid Reload
    Precise Shot
    IPS

    Considering also:-

    OSTWF
    PA
    Improved Crit Slashing

P.S. is mech I and DWS I at the moment.

Quite frankly i doubt you will be very happy with this character.
Arti is a nice splash if you take 2 levels so you can use runearms for up to 2d8 extra damage per shot and get some free ranged feats.
Without int the repeater damage is rather pitiful and your deep splashing ruins your sneak attack damage.

At 6/6 you're already too far down that road tho, so you probably should just follow your original plan or reroll.
If you want to reroll then 6 levels arti can be nice as it grants 3rd level spells so you can add int to damage twice if they change it to work that way and flame turret which is a huge aggro magnet.

So you dont think a 6/6/8 or 6/7/7 is viable.

Just take one level of Arti for rapid reload, heavy repeater, great xbow and leave it at that?

Hmm, 6/10/4 ranger/rogue/articifer could be possible. Will lose either imp evasion or double strike, but gain bonus feat and 2nd level spells. Hmmm

I'd say that 6/7/7 is indeed optimal depending on insightful damage being changed to stack with mechanic I. I've made a here based on it. The issue that I see is that you have a low intelligence score and the build is based on generating crossbow damage through a high intelligence score.

Sure, your current stats can lend itself quite well to a more melee focused build which could work for you but then I'd question when you'd use crossbows at all.

Most of this depends on insightful damage and mech I stacking though ...

If you're just going to tr when you hit 20, consider making the majority of your levels ranger for this life for the extra 2 damage every shot free past life. 0 And then go 6/6/6/X2

And stock up on 75% returning bolts from house d, a lot of them. :P

Why not just summon 1k bolts before entering a quest?
