    Default fighter 12/ paly 6/ monk 2. . .2HF or TWF?

    as the title says
plan on going kensai 2 obviously and have been wondering what is the better choice?

the difference in build points is not really an issue, only 2 points come out of Str so im not loosing much in way of DPS. also this is not a choice between an ESOS or twin epic something or anothers. this is a question of wich is just going to be more easy to level, equip, have good dps, etc.

so, in the expert opinions of those here, TWF, or 2HF?

Without eSoS, endgame TWF always does more DPS. For your build, on even a very lightly geared (Min IIs and that's it) version I would predict THF only reaches 80-85% of TWF DPS.

Regarding leveling, THF gets a lot less out of its feats than TWF, so it makes a lot of sense to start with a THF weapon (such as Carnifex) until you get ITWF or even GTWF. The ceiling is lower, but the basement is higher, and everybody starts in the basement.

Regarding equipment, TWF is noticeably best with khopeshes, while THF is pretty close between falchions, greataxes, and greatswords. As a result, it's usually easier to get a THF version of any given weapon.

    My thoughts:

    • THF > TWF at lower lvls, esp. if you've got a Carnifex; TWF gradually gains on THF at mid-lvls; and by the time you get to greensteels and GTHF & GTWF, GS khopeshes x 2 > GS 2H anything. Things are more even if you're talking eSOS (esp. on, say, a HO who's maxed their 2H DPS enhs).
    • THF builds are definitely easier to equip, though, since you only need one of every weapon. And glancing blows help you hold mob aggro if you're trying to make some sort of hate-tank.

That being said, I'd say go with the option you find more appealing, not necessarily what's optimal DPS. If you wanted optimal DPS, you'd be playing a pure build anyway.
