    Default Waggro

Any good stories/ideas how to avoid it-is it even possible?
Between work and kids it's hard to get good solid playtime-RL has to come first-but just when I think I'll have a little block of time it's honey can you help me with (fill in the blank). I know there are some experts out there-what do you guys do to save versus wife?

My wife plays DDO as well

I would suggest you try to get your wife to do the same.

I've tried because she would rule in ADQ no prob. but she says she's not interested (i do still try). It would be sweet though if she did!

You need crowd control. Maybe hold person or web would work, helps keep the kids in check too. Charm person is especially good to get them all to run after you, meals, drinks, slippers, pipe.

I try to send my wife to visit her mother. She will get stuck there for hours since she can't leave with out feeling guilty. Some times it's nice to have a mother-in-law.

Using the mother in law is more cruel than crowd control spells.

Well, there IS something that I 'give' my wife that assures me a few hours of peace and quiet. Can't describe the process here, but it works like a charm. Your results may vary...

Just remember all that you guys have been through and all she does for you. Try and squeeze in the time to play whenever you realistically can. Maybe find some like-minded real life friends and set up a static group for specific times.

If all else fails, the mickey idea might work too... but that's just wrong... right?

Do what I did, suggest she go to her parents house for a couple weeks for a visit with the kids.

Of course, this only works if they live more than a 1 hour drive from you, and if you are really lucky(I am YAYYY) they get to go on an airplane ride!

Unfortunately mine are do back tomorrow.

On the bright side, school starts monday, the wife will be back at work, and it will be just me and the young'un all day!

Unfortunately you may well never get the time you require online

I have the misforturne to be married to a bitter and twisted, man hating, DDO despising, hipocritical, olympic standard couch potato that has an uncanny abilty to drain the fun out of any activityand who has nothing better to do with her time other than try and refine her sloth ways to perfection, whilst making the lives of everyone around her a misery. She also doesnt have the sense to realise that I cant pause DDO - yes dear, they're REAL people and NO I cant ask them all to stop playing just because you're too dull to work out how to work the TV remote and moan down the phone to your man hating friend at the same time.

Its a good job shes not ugly or I wouldve left her - there only so much a man can put up with

OK, so I exaggerate a little here, but the point is, if she doesnt like you on DDO then you've had it. You'll always have restricted time oline and nothing short of outright mutiny will change that.

    Welcome to my world

+1 for the solid 10 minutes of Schadenfreude laughter this provided

I'm lucky. I'm young and not tied down.
Of course, the worst time I ever had was when my girlfriend (we'd probably be married by now if she hadn't passed away) kept pestering me to get her a LotRO lifetime for her birthday. ;-) Not exactly waggro.

Of course, If I was in your position, I'd hand the wife the credit cards, ship the children off to the nanny and bolt the door behind them.

Compromise and find a set time frame in which she can agree not to interrupt your online time, unless there's an emergency... like the house is burning, or something.

I recenty read a good book. And some days after reading it i had bit of spare time and so i logged on DDO. One of my group members had that notorious Wife Aggro and i thought to myself - that guy is doing something wrong.

The book i red was 5 love languages by Gary Chapman. Its psychology book written by marriage councelor. I as a guy, would probably never pick up some romance book, specially if its named "5 love languages". But since im on sort of self-educating streak and its not a romance book i decided to read it. And i found that its very good book.

If you read it, you will not be dissapointed.

What it absolutely WILL do for you:
    1) you'll probably have bit less time to play if you follow the things described in that book.
    2) But the time you can use for playing will probably be quality time, cause you'll never get any wife aggroes again :P

Tried it myself and things are much more quiet over here :P

Default Yup - Waggro sure can rip your nighty!

Good news! My wife made me (her & the kids vs DDO) delete every character first (lost all BTA gear as well as give all my good gear to guildies), then delete the whole game off the computer!

Sure I could have done without that Waggro but nothing is ever lost! Managed to negotiate 3 hr/week playtime and Turbine got more of my money to undelete character as well.

Will take years to regain lost ground in DDO but I still have years to grow old with the wife and kids so ultimately it boils down to the following: buy a nighty or two cause you can always recover from getting ripped!
