Default Suggestion: Give monk active past life more charges!

The monk active past life evasion ability is quite useful on a character with good reflex saves, however, I believe that it suffers from one problem: The lack of uses. When you think about the other past lives, even the barbarian rage lasts longer than evasion, and that, in a way, needs buffed too, but in a different way. Right now, there are two ways I can see the past life being buffed, and I will present them to you:

    1. Make the evasion a rechargeable ability. It will differ in different past lives, and maybe be a bit too powerful, but having 1 evasion for a short time, with a 30-60 second cooldown when it expires isn't too powerful, right?
    2. Just give us 3 charges of the evasion past life instead of just one. It's a full minute of evasion total, which can be useful for dodging traps and such. While I would prefer 5, I wouldn't mind having 3 charges instead. Besides, the only other things the active past life offers is just +2 concentration and increased unarmed hit die.

I wish monk past life would grant handwrap proficiency.

I think they should just make it similar to manyshot. Infinite uses, but on a timer with a decent length. Say 2 minutes or more so you're really not getting full evasion but you get a quick burst of it once, maybe twice per boss encounter. While they're at it, do the same for the rage clicky from the barb past life.

Sounds like someones trying to find a to sidestep one of the biggest weaknesses of the Artificer class.

I do agree, 20 seconds, 1/day is useless and the unarmed die step doesn't matter to a class without evasion (if the unarmed die did matter you'd have 1 level of monk, no reason not to go to 2 monk to pick up evasion full time).

I'd ask for more. 5 uses, 20 seconds each or incorporate some recharging function.

It has seemed to me since I learned about it that the PL monk active feat kind of stinks period. Unless you plan to use it on a monk. Even then the evasion click would be useless.

When you think about when evasion would be useful I can't see how a non-passive evasion would be worth anything at all....

If you had 3-5 clickies of it it would be handy for an artificer with insightful reflexes (or a good dex score) to be able to disable trap boxes that are on the other side of the trap.

Artificers have enough feats to spend so it would almost be a non-brainer for any artificer that wanted to get epic traps regularly. Other situations like swimming in The Crucible, spikes in Reavers etc. Really, it's an attempt to add more versatility to the class.

(No, crucible and reavers don't matter much at the moment but we are all holding our breath for epic GH ...)
