    Default Altar of devastation explanation.

My problem occured when I was crafting a lit 2 falchion, at the 3rd alter and it had been sometime since I last crafted a gs item have had some bad runs of shroud. So I spent close the 2 million plat for this item but I really wanted one as apart of my collection. Well I had both shards imbued and put both shards, the falchion, and the cell in there. Well I pressed crunch and it imbued one kept the other and ate the cell. My question is why not be like the other altars and not function when something else is put in there or just eat the cell as I have encountered. I just want to know what makes that alter and which btw does not warn anywhere on google that if you do this it does this.

Unfortunately you've done what many have done. The step that you should have taken before putting both shards and the falchion into the alter was combining the two shards. For that, you would put both imbued supreme shards into the alter with a cell and combine. This will give you one shard that is imbued with aspects of both of them. Afterwards, then you would put the combined supreme shard in with your t1 gs and cell and combine the two.
It sucks when it happens but sometimes crafting doesn't work out the way you want it to - check out the ddo game guide which provides a pretty good outline of what is required as well as in what order.
    Good luck the next time!
