    Default Highest +some

i doubt anyone would agree with this but hey I'll throw it out here:

Let's say highest crafting possible is 200 for this example. Artificers get at least +10 to crafting at level 20 so that's level 210. i think it would be pretty neat if there were bound shards that were pretty sick that only a maxed crafting artificer could make. Not sure what they would be exactly but something that would make others say, wow that's pretty f'ing awesome.

Personally I have no issue with a class being granted better crafting abilities, namely the new artificer. Personally i have no problem with them having things other classes don't. this happens with all classes to some extent. I'm certain most people would say a multitude of four letter interjections about this idea, but I still think it would be neat.

I too love the idea of them having something unique when it comes to crafting though perhaps implemented in a different way.

Perhaps they have their own set of magical items that only they can create at different crafting levels?

in a way they have. it is called rune arms and they each have a few crafting power levels that can be added to them with power. the level 1 for example have +2 power levels that can be added to them (anything that can go on trinkets go on them). check rune arms in wiki ddo.

    Default hmmm

Ahhh. what if at 210 they could craft a unique rune arm perhaps a Green steel or Epic (that way it couldn't really be any use to his other toons with the bound to account shard) and the rune arm could do some pretty amazing things.

other ideas that come to mind:

Being able to craft armor kits. BtC

Being able to craft Large guild slots onto any item (GS and Epics included) which cause them to become BtC.

    No. No. No.

It's bad enough already. Don't make craftbot exclusive recipes, please.

I am afraid I must confirm your doubts. This would be a horrible thing to implement.

wut. Ahh...you quoted the wrong part. That made absolutely no sense for a bit there.

    Eh... pass.

They get enough of a bonus for just existing and gaining 1.9 mil XP. They're fine as is.

honestly if anyone here's tried to get to 200 crafting, it's not easy task. I say reward the crafter for his efforts.

    I agree.

Reward the crafter, regardless of class. If anything, it's going to be much, much tougher for the other crafters to make it that high.

It's not as much that they want to 'reward' the crafter, it's that they want to make 'artificer with mark of making' only recipes, recipes that cannot be made by anyone but an artificer with the marks as 3 of his feats. (e.g, put a soft level cap at 200 for crafting, you still gain xp then, but you can't level above 200, but taking the marks/20 artificer levels will push you up to 220, where a few awesome recipes have been added at level 225, which pretty much means you must be an an artificer with the marks, and capped crafting levels, to make those shards.)

True enough. But then again that is what an artificer does.

    artificer [ɑːˈtɪfɪsə]
    Noun
    1. a skilled craftsman

An interesting twist would be to add a special Epic Dust of Disjunction which is super rare and only found in high level raids that would allow you to disjunct Epic items to make a special mat to make something really cool. Or perhaps this is the way they could allow Green steel break-down. Shavarath Dust of Denial.

The decision to inexplicably go back on what was originally stated (for no good reason) was bad enough. Throwing something like this on top of it would only serve to make the environment that much more toxic.

If you weigh a dictionary definition against generating massive ill will from the player base, the dictionary should lose.
