My current character is a fighter 8, half-orc, and my original plan was to go to level 8, then multi the rest of the way as barbarian, but now I'm starting to wonder if this is the best idea. A little background, 32 point build, in creation I simply shoved all of my points into strength and constitution, and paid absolutely no attention to any other stat. My overall rationale was that when I went to barbarian, raging would make my AC suck anyway, so seemed that investing in dex was a waste of effort. Instead felt that just getting a high Con for saves and hp would be a better plan. Then for armor, find anything with the best fortification I could manage. Currently have a +2 full plate of mod fort, not special, but good enough.
At this point, relevant stats, Strength 30, Con 24. Dex is 11, 189hp. Feats to this point are about what you'd expect, PA, THF, toughness, weapon focus/spec, ITHF, improved critical. Also have cleave, but thats since I intend to get frenzied prestige as a barbarian, and its required, figure to get it out of the way now. Am Kensai 1 greatsword spec/mastery, and at this point, my overall damage bonus stands at +41.
Now the debate for myself, would my overall damage dealing ability improve MEASURABLY by going into barbarian, or only in very small ways. My main issue with fighter is no damage bonus enhancement, though I do love the critical damage bonus I get as Kensai.
Anyway, any intelligent and experienced advise is very wanted at this point, since its sort of halted my using this character for the moment, since I don't want to split into something without being certain its what will work out best in the end. Did that before, and essentially it forced me to start from scratch.
