    Default Good Paladin Life build

    Here's what I have.

I currently have a 32-point HOrc Monk who I'll be TRing into a Paladin and then back to Monk for 36-point builds and a few past lives. So I need a good Paladin build I can run to 20. He'll have only a Monk PL feat, and I can get a couple +2's if need be (but would rather not if I don't have to)

Any builds you can think of? Already read the guide to paladins, so I know what I'm getting into-but would appreciate a good build setup to work with.

    ------------------------------------------------------

    Reasonings:
    1. Going THF instead of TWF because as a feat starving build pally usually start TWFing effectively til later levels. Imo it's too late to be worth it for a leveling life.
    2. Splashing 2 levels of rogue for evasion and easy access to high UMD. Rogue is also easier for those who doesn't have monk class available.
    3. Going human for healing boosts, extra skill points and extra feat. After U11, human versitility also provides possible burst dps potential.

Possible alternatives that I thought of:
    1. Splashing 2 levels of monk instead of rogue, for more feats and thus the option to go TWFing. Very recommendable. (Less UMD)
    2. Going WF for immunities and extra synergies with greatsword. (Less healing amp so possibly higher resource demands.)

Before reaching shroud lvls, hunter of the dead prestige could be more useful than knight of the chalice. HotDI provides built-in ghost-touch and bonus to turning, both excellent for delera farming. HotDII provides immunity to energy drain, excellent for orchard quests and beholder encounters.

By the way, as I put in OP he's TRing from a Monk. So you can assume that he's able to go Monk for evasion xD

Appreciate the build, will look into it.

Three of the avid TR's which which I run from time to time have chosen something similar to the following: 15 Paladin/4 Monk/1 Rogue, but then, they are Reincarnating as soon as they hit cap, so it is effectively 15 Pal/2 Monk/1 Rogue, or similar. Skills are probably too tight for traps, but UMD and OL is worth quite a bit. The Rogue's Haste boost is also a nice measure to increase DPS, and it is usable at the same time as the Human Versatility Damge Boost.

The idea behind that is: Only as a PL, a pure build wastes some potential. As a splashed build, you'll only get KotC at Cap, which doesn't matter, too. So settle for 15 Pally, which grants Zeal, Divine Might III, Divine Sacrifice II and Exalted Smite III.
Khopeshes will probably deal better damage than handwraps in most situations, but then, if you have the Wraps you need and you fit in the PL: Monk feat, you'll be fine as well.

Stats depend a bit on the fact if you want to use a +3 Cha tome or not for that life. If yes, I'd start with 15 Cha; if not, I'd start with 16 Cha and use a +2 tome. Similarly, for Dex, the +2 Version is 15 Dex, the +3 Version is 14 Dex.

My suggestion on the initial stat spread on a Human or HElf, only using +2 tomes.

    16 Str
    15 Dex
    15 Con
    8 Wis
    8 Int
    16 Cha

It's also up to you if you want to use a +2 tome for a +2 Damage (and some other bonuses) for the time between taking your 15th paladin level and hitting cap.

    Default Divine Phoenix

    Hey there Habreno!

I recomend this build for you: Divine Phoenix (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php...47#post3737147).

Really strong and survivable build in every lvl range. I've experienced one life using this build with my main (Amalzarantar from Argo) and really liked it. I consider it a really nice paladin life for a monk past life toon.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did if you choose to go with it!

EDIT: Forgot to tell. With right equipment (best I can use every level, and sometimes with guild cristals used) I was able to do traps until cap, with just 4 ranks in each skill, at normal difficulty. It really surprized me. Of course I had to use all possible buffs also, like GH, Human Versatility and Walk of the Sun. There were some traps I could not handle. Didnt tried to do traps in raids.

I would add my voice to the calls for checking out the build recommended here (the Divine Phoenix is a 15/4/1 class split). It does solid DPS in end-game raiding/epic situations if you're hanging around at 20 for a bit, and is also great for soloing or short-manning during the levelling process. It also will allow you to make use of your handwraps, and pretty much everything else, from your monk life.

I did this for my last pally life and it made for an easy TR, I plan on doing it again several times.

    Half Orc

    20 STR 10 DEX 14 CON 6 INT 10 WIS 14 CHA

    15/16 CON for 34/36 pointers

    1 Ranger
    2-7 Pally
    8 Fighter
    9-16 Pally
    17-19 Fighter
    20 Whatever, TRing

    1 PA
1R Undead, free swap to EO at 17
    3 Extendz
    6 Toughness
    8F IC: Slash
    9 Empower Heal or Maximize
    12 THF
    15 iTHF
    17F GTHF
    18 WF: Slash
    19F WS: Slash

+2 STR and CHA(DMII) tomes, rest don't matter. HotD II until 17 then KotC II if you want or just stay hunter for the amp and other goodies. Devotion III or IV and Superior Ardor clicky for decent healing spells along with LoH for self-sufficiency. Pump APs into Horc and Pally DPS.

Sprint to the bad guys and beat them about the head and face. Keep DF, Zeal, and DMII going at all times. Click the divine sacrifice button until it falls off, haste boost and smite till they run out. Enjoy.
