    Default Hybrid Cleric

    I am doubtful that I would ever take this idea serious enough to actually try it in DDO, but I wanted to try and generate a DDO version of a PnP character I am playing. The character is, basically, an undead hunter. There are a few distinct differences between the Pathfinder version and the DDO version. For example, in Pathfinder Half-Orcs have no negatives to abilities and can place a +2 wherever they wish. Still, with the sacrifices made to charisma I am not bothered by this as there is little point to trying to turn undead in DDO. With this particular character he is set to buff with the advantage of Extend. This is a sacrificial feat, however, and can easily be replaced with any of the metamagic feats as the user sees fit. Replacing it with Empower Healing, for example, increases not only the characters healing abilities in the party but also the damage that the character can deal to the undead forces that they encounter. There is no focus on weaponry here, either, outside of the fact that you want to use light weapons to take advantage of Weapon Finesse. The addition of the single level in fighter and the timing of the level are important as that opens up the option of taking Greater Two-Weapon Fighting to this character as well, thus increasing their abilities even further. Additionally, the character dips into the Tempest PrC for a boost in the combat speed. While a skill player could take this character and be the lead healer in a basic quest, I would not advise trying to be the primary healer in any raid as your spells will be well behind the potential of other clerics in the quest.

    Still, if I was to take this one more serious, what would the suggestions be to improving on the concept?

    About the only thing I would probably change is dumping mental toughness for either Quicken Spell since you will be in melee some or Improved Critical to help out your damage.

    Extend Spell might also be swapped out for Empower healing allowing you to take Radiant Servant PrE. You probably won't have enough turn attempts to make use of the burst alot but you should be able to keep the aura up all the time.

    Drop the Tempest PRE. Three feats for 10% offhand is a really, really horrible tradeoff.

    Use those three feats for Improved Critical, Power Attack, and Empower Healing. IC and Power Attack will be a greater damage gain over the 10% offhand, and Empower Healing will make to so you don't totally suck at healing (right now it does). The lack of Quicken is problematic as well. This is where burning a feat on Finesse sucks, but if its the character concept, so be it. Swap Extend for Quicken. (Even better would be human for the extra feat and future changes to human versatility).

    Going Dex based on a Horc is completely anti-thetical to the whole thing. I have a liking for characters that do stuff they weren't 'intended,' so if its a roleplay thing go for it. But be aware thats gonna leave some people scratching their head.

    Other suggestions:

    Orcish Fury sucks. Drop it.
    Improved Spell Penn enhancements are a waste, you won't make your spell pen checks anyway. Drop it.
    Fighter critical accuracy sucks. Drop it.

    In place, take Radiant Servant and Fighter Haste Boost 1.
    Think that's about it.

    Enhancement cost might be off here. The DDO planner confirmed the character meets all the requirements for Radiant Servant, but it would not let me select the enhancements so I just wrote them in.

    In this version I swap out Weapon Finesse for Oversized-TWF for dual wielding Scimitars. With some additional shifting around you could replace Extend or Mental Toughness for Kopesh and dual wield those insted. Also adding in the Empower Healing feat and Radiant Servant to increase the healing abilities further.

    Tempest I no longer provides +10% atk speed; it now provides +10% offhand proc chance, or the equivalent of half a regular TWF feat. As such it's not really worth the 3 feats and 6 rgr lvls to get it, unfortunately; though you might do rgr 6 for everything else it provides.

    I have to say I'm not seeing a lot of synergies in this build. You go HO but choose to go Finesse-based TWF (neither of which plays to a HO's strengths at, well, STR); you go WIS-based but with only 13 cleric lvls your caster DPS will be subpar; and as noted you don't have Radiant Servant, which is like the best part of being a cleric (and radiant bursts / auras do harm undead, which fits into the undead hunter theme).

    Presuming this is meant as a novelty / themed build, I have an alternative idea: a melee-focused HO THF monk 2 / pally 6 / cleric 12. Monk for Evasion & feats; pally for the saves boosts, immunities, and DPS; cleric for buffs, heals, and RadServ II. Unfortunately, you can't combine Hunter of the Dead with RadServ.

    Here's a first stab at the idea (with the caveat I am really sleepy right now ):
