Is this infusion worth getting? 20 sp for 50 ammo that can't be summoned in public area and lose ammo when exiting quest.

In my opinion. No. It won't go into a quiver so it takes up a lot of inventory space, it summons in batches of 50 and requires you to use an inventory slot for "normal" bolts as well. They drop when you exit an adventure so you have to burn more of your precious mana at the start every time.
We have lots of different ways to get a flame effect on our ranged attack already so the benefit of flame arrow is nil to me. I take conjure bolts until I can get the House D favor for the returning ones.
I took it thinking it would be nice to have flaming and use elemental weapon for cold, acid from runearm, lightning and sonic from Storm for lots of elemental damage. But found it's a pretty crappy infusion due to limitations on usage compared to conjure bolts.
get a wand or 2
PS: Greensteel RUINED the game! and you all know it!
less buffing, more nerfing!!!
to make it easier for those of you that wants to avoid me in game, all my characters are in "Bladesworn Mercenaries"
yes. its is one more d6 of damage on top of everything else.
well, it would be, if i didnt already have a flaming repeater. but once i get a different one i will use the spell again.
whatever repeater you got + 1d6 flaming +1d6 from elemental spell + xdx from rune arm = lots of tasty extra numbers.
the dumb thing is that it summons 50 at a time....

Just buy wands. I carry 2 and on entry will whip it 5-6 times.
Personally, I don't see the problem with it.
Turns a stack of 100 bolts into 5000 bolts.
I normally cast it twice at the start of the mission, then cast it a few times while in the mission. I've noticed with my crossbow, I get the +1 fire from the crossbow and then the +1d6 from the bolts.
Does it use up mana? Yes. Yes it does.
If I don't have time to use it, I'll use normal bolts (Like if I run out in mid combat) then when I have the time, I'll use it. A quiver that can hold 600 bolts, becomes a quiver that holds 30000 bolts.
My personal goal is to get a shocking/frost/corrusive crossbow, with the flaming bolts and with elemental enchant to give it one element it doesn't have yet. But that would just be my weapon.. I've got plans for other items too.
I thought it would have been a fun spell to have in the beginning but i was proven wrong very fast for all the reasons above. Conjure bolts is far better even if they wont go in the quiver (which they should in my opinion).
Just wans wwhip it, way less hassle than having to carry around extra bolts somewhere which you mustnt shoot so you can cast the spell yourself. Also conserves sp and isnt that expensive.
One other option:
Can currently craft arrows/bolts with Cannith Crafting at fairly low skill level (elemental/holy/some banes). Fill a quiver or two as part of pre-quest preps.
Hopefully those recipes will be coming to Live, anyway.
