Default This thing is bug galore

I REALLY hope they won't release U11 in the current state. Fortification doesn't work, hirelings are wacked unless you dismiss and re-summon them, items doesn't seem to work as advertised and quests seems buggy - some won't let you in after several tries breaking your hard/elite bonus as the quest kicks you out.

It seems for every fix something else breaks. I get that this is BIG. New class with new functionality and some of it is neat. But I can't for the life of me go beyond level 11 since without functioning fortification the artificier is dog meat. It won't take a lot of hits for someone as frail as a caster to get squashed.

The developement team has already stated that many of the issues are known and are going to be taken care of in the next lama build, it will be a few more builds before the game is ready to go live, so be patient and send your bug reports when you find something while playing in lama.

They will address your reports and concerns and try to bring as much of a finished product as possible as quickly as possible.

I, myself, am waiting on the next build so that the issues with the rune arm and the pet loading are fixed so I can fully explore this class more. Because as is I am using the rune arm as supplemental damage for my main hand, and that's it atm.

    Thanks,

my dog is surviving just fine at level 17 with lousy items. take enhancements to boost defensive stuff, especially AC and you should be fine.

I don't think that you need to worry about them releasing this build as is:

fortification doesn't work? interesting. i guess it doesn't matter so much anymore that i'm running around at 15th now with 0% fort still? was funny when i ran in a tempest spine group... all artis... and i had the second highest HP. i'm a halfling.

but, pray tell, are you sure you aren't experiencing getting sundered? or some other effect? sunder reduces your fort now, so even with 100% fort it is still possible to get a crit on you

edit: rawr. grammar r gud before caffine. blargh -.-

It will take x more builds before the update is ready for live.
They will release the update after y more builds.
Hopefully y will be greater than or equal to x.

Time will tell. Turbine appears to have a new QA team (or at least a new QA team leader), but they have the same upper management and they have the same project managers and those are the people who decide if they will release content only when it is ready or if they push something out the door before it is ready just because that next deadline is looming.

Took one look at the latest build on Lammania, decided filing all the reports was way too much work for a lazy old man like me, and went back to playling live.

I'll check out the next Lamma release.
Once upon a time, I was part of a team, and we saved some children. That was long ago and far away, and, yes, I am that old.

Of course this is not anywhere near a finished product. It may 'seem' like there are a lot of bugs, but in actuality most of this is working just fine. When working with complex software systems we tend to see what stands out and is glaring but believe me, there's a lot working right here.

Not only are some things interconnected by necessity, the breadth of testing needed is only testament to the amount of work being done - much of which is I'm sure hidden. I highly doubt very many things were inadvertantly "broken" (although there are always some.) The number of changes (and so the number of things appearing to be "broken" is related directly to how much new content and features we're going to get.

Oh and let's not forget there are probably a lot of underlying changes being made to accommodate the next few updates and other future major changes. I have no doubt that groundwork changes for this artificer class have been introduced in the last few updates.

Testing and previewing isn't everyone's cup of tea. I like to help when I can but I'm time limited, too. You can only do what you can do.

I don't see anyone here complaining about the bugs on Llama-land. What I see are fears that the bugs on Llama-land will end up on the live servers as they have so often in the past.

I completely understand the worry, but MajMal has said that the past is the past, and I for 1 am willing to give him the chance to prove it with this update.

People do not appear to generally understand the concept and the main idea of of the "preview" lamina(sp) server. The purpose is to determine what the bugs and problem areas are before going live. I.e. (In example) I did have problems getting into the korthos hall for the cannith crystal quest last night. However, I did my duty. I submitted the bug reports to Turbine and moved on. The preview server is *not* a main server to play on. As said in some of the forms I've seen here, character wipes are a normality and it's not up unless there is a new update/patch to debug. I personally have no problem being a guinea pig for purposes of debugging the new material. I personally like the new enhancements and changes that have been made. I think the new class is really good and can't wait to make a permanent character on my mail server. The new area is really cool, and I personally like the upgrades made to Korthos.

    Thank you.
