Though I am so far unimpressed by the mechanical best friend, I would like to know if anyone has tried halfling's hero's companion on their pet.

plain jane pet = weak
augmented summoning pet = okay
okay pet w/ hero's companion = better, but still meh
Only the truly patient will wait for their dog to kill mobs. I recommend saving hero's companion for real companions and only using on the dog when you're alone.
