Should my Arti be WarForged?

Just curious...made my first Arti human, decided the slight advantage to having onboard repair spells might be offset by more human feats and since I like healer hirelings anyway. I also "assumed" that the Artificer would not have all that big of an SP pool comparatively..

Apologies if this has been discussed before, but what do more experienced Artificer's think? Is Warforged the "best"?

I have been contemplating this myself and look forward to more feedback. Personally, I made a WF and have enjoyd it so far but it needs to be leveled a bit more. Although I could be wrong, it appears that people have created more WF than any other race. Of course, this is just my observation from the times I have logged on.

No - there is no one race that is best for any class. It is up to the player to make it work. Heck I have a halfling fighter, barbarian & paladin which almost every new player I run accross asks why. When the quest is done and I have more then held my wieght they no longer wonder that a halfling makes a good melee character (or is it the player).

those fleshies that take the feat that make them part construct (whatever its called) are just Warforged wannabees.

now i need to go make a Drow pewpew arti. the class is so crazy overpowered right now that i need to do something to even the odds and Drow is the perfect race for nerfing my artificer.

You see my point exactly. Not all but many warforge players are extremely arrogant and think because they have a warforge <insert class> they are superior to all others. When a player plays another race they look at you with this confusion and ask why on earth would you be anything but a warforge or say something this poster did that "all other races are gimp".

I havn't come accross a warforge caster that is better than my human non-TR'd caster, a warforged fighter that is better than my halfling fighter, etc... Don't get me wrong my successor in Legends is a warforge player and not a better guy you will meet but he is humble and plays them because he likes them not because he thinks others are gimp.

I would never play a warforge not because I think they are inferior but because I disagree with them in a D&D game even if they are a part of Eberron.

Between the WF immunities and quickened repair spells it can be argued that warforged are the easy button for all arcane classes. There is a reason why many people automatically answer WF Wizard when people ask what combo is the most beginner friendly build.

I decided to download the lamannia client and try this out since I can't wait till the update.. [waiting on the update as we speak] and I will roll a warforged one.. even though there are probably like.. 50 million of them right now.

Lol.. thats a lot of dancing in the middle of poison traps. [thats what I do in front of fleshies at them pre proof against poison levels]


Best thing thing about being a WF.. I can be a female character and not get bothered by the couple of weirdos on DDO.

I think that for a crossbow using artificer Drow should be a good race. You will want a high int, but also a good dex for your to-hit (you can only have one infusion on a weapon at a time, so must choose between using int for to hit or for damage... I prefer damage), and with a high cha you can pump your umd higher earlier for even more scroll casting power.

Drow also can reduce ASF as a racial enhancement.

Don't get me wrong, the self healing of the WF makes them better than a Drow, but I think a ranged arti is a combo that can make use of Drow's unique combination of stats.

I've been playing nothing but WarForged since this game launched because so many people used to say how bad WarForged are.

Artificers are genuinely higher performing as WarForged. Sure, you could play a gimp halfling barbarian, or some weak elven fighter; but, War Forged is where it's at.
