heard someone say you could do this with pale master. How? only self healing i ever get is from negative auras :/

Back when Pale Masters were first implemented, you could only stay in Undead form for short periods of time. Back then, you *could* use the Necrotic Touch class ability to give up two hitpoints and heal yourself.
This was changed several updates ago.
That might also be what your friend was talking about, if he hasn't been paying attention to current events.Give a man a fish, and he demands two more tomorrow.
