Iron Defender & Grease

I know this is probably an odd question but... do Iron Defenders still do that annoying grease spray? I wanted to like them on my old rogue-mechanic characters (I sometimes make characters to fit a fun concept as opposed to optimization...) - but I would nearly always be asked to "put that damned thing away" - and in all fairness, the party members were right. A minion that spams a grease spell in combat isn't a way to win friends or influence people.

The artificer deluxe version doesn't (it breathes fire and acid instead), but I have no idea if the enhancement-bought one still does.
