    Default Aritficer description questions

In several descriptions of the class it says they get spellbok. My question is why? in The pnp they do not get or need one and the appeal of the class was no need of a spellbook or no need of infusions known. They can cast any and every infusion on their list and their infusion the most limited of all casters (before the Warlock) and their casting of infusions per-day is also limited, which they do not need a spellbook. It goes against the flavor of class if they have a spellbook. They do prepare their infusions for the day though which could be similar to a cleric or Favored Soul type casting for DDO version.

I believe FvS has a static spell list, much like the sorcerer... Anyway, probably the Artificer will get a wizard/cleric like "spell list", which he'll gain each couple of levels. To keep with the game mechanics, it will look like a spellbook, but it won't be. At least, that's my opinion. It could be something different.

The point is it should be more like a cleric, they get everything, no need to inscribe, and then choose what they want each rest.

I disagree. An artificer is a craftsman. His learned infusions should be more like schematics and alchemical formulae. His "spellbook" is a laboratory notebook. Some of those infusions should be learned as he/she gains skill, but there is no reason others can't be learned by finding a new formula or schematic (aka "a scroll").

How does it make sense at all for an Artificer to automatically know all of the infusions suddenly on level-up?

I would say because it's part of his training, but I'll wait until we them added.

Well look at Artificers' mind as advanced with magic that it's own spellbook plus their infusions list are really small, they do not have that many infusions per level anyway sorta like ranger's or paladin's list and at 1st level they only cast their infusions 3 time per day before bonuses with Int, feats or items. Also new infusions that have be inscribed other Artificers are really rare in world and that's including schemas. There's like 1-2 new infusions that is not on their list already found in campaign.

Plus they are not supposed to be true casters, their focus is crafting and preparing ahead of time. Their infusions are secondary and mostly an added bonus to the class.

Character creation said 'inscribe scroll' and 'unleash defender'
which confirms a spellbook, how it exactly works is to be seen, but i expect wizard mechanics.
