Half-Elf Barb with Wiz Dilettante for buff scrolls

Is it possible? You get to be a level 10 wizard so that makes it possible to do stoneskin, haste, displacement, blur, resist energy and all the other goodies available in wands and scrolls.

Or would Cleric Dil lvl 10 be enough to get good cleric goodies? Heal scrolls? Raise dead, etc.

It's not a terrible idea, but it's not a great idea either...

Barbarians can't use wands and scrolls when they are raged... and the haste, and displacement, and blur scrolls don't last very long.

Resist Energy wands and Blur wands and stoneskin wands are decent..

It's a workable idea, but trying to use magic items on a barbarian is tough.

The problem I see is that the scrolls typically have short length. TS and GH are two that would be nice to scroll, but the others are quite short lived, and since you cant reup them while raged, I see the result of this being that it does not bring as much as you might first think.

The Cleric one is quite nice, but again, when you need a heal scroll the most, you are going to be raged, and have to dismiss rage, lose a bunch of Con, heal scroll and rerage. Not to mention the fact that it in essence removed madstone boots from you for a fair bit of time.

If I was going to do this, I would consider Fighter or maybe Pally

The other thing to consider is that INT and WIS of 13 (Base+Tome) are not stats commonly invested in by the Barbarian Class as they lack synergy with the base class abilities, such as what has been already pointed out - not being able to cast/use scrolls while raged.

This also takes up to 5 build points at creation. This can be less depending on access to tomes and willingness to wait for lvl3/7/11 to switch out this feat for a more desired one.

Yeah Barbarian would be a bad choice, of the melees i have only played the dark monk and wished that i did have umd abilities for divine scrolls. i like the heal scroll for 150hp, and raise dead. maybe barbarian would work more with wizard deli. buff first before rage. but 30 seconds would be too short? atleast going with barb and int, you could get skill points so it wont be a total waste, but still pretty wasted.

30 sec hastes would kinda suck. i guess the classes that would benefit from scroll/haste would be the ones with the + % enhancements, so perhaps a h/elf cleric with sorc deli for +55% scroll effectiveness. 47 second haste & displacement?

I don't see the benefit in the Wizard dilletante as a Barbarian:

• You can craft items that give you Stoneskin, Haste and Displacement clickies.

• There are several Blurry items available in the game (Blur doesn't stack with Displacement either).

• Resist 20 potions are purchasable in Amrath, assuming you don't have a guild with an airship for the Resist 30 shrines.
