    If it were me, I would dump dex/int, max str, drop rogue, fighter and thf feats and take max and quicken as meta's (example: trying to improve Shade's Doorstop bard. Adjust as needed).

    While I am describing a completely other build (Classic Rocker), it just seems like you are trying to do too much with your bard. Nothing on it is terrible but nothing that impressive. That could be what you are going for though.

    I would drop:

    Enhancement: Fighter Critical Accuracy I
    Enhancement: Bard Energy of the Music I
    Enhancement: Bard Energy of the Music II
    Enhancement: Bard Energy of the Music III
    Enhancement: Bard Energy of the Music IV

    I would drop everything and make sure you take Inspired Attack III and Inspired Damage III. After that I would look to get Scroll mastery (at least 1 but more = better) so your umd heal scrolls heal for more. If you happen to have more lingering song is a nice choice since you are down 4 bard levels and 20% (capstone) from a pure bard.

    What is the point of the build your trying to create? Honestly to me it doesn't look like it accomplishes much of anything.

    Hit points are low, With out a ton of work your not going to hit even 400 hit points, your not going to have a high enough UMD to use heal and other scrolls with out fail, your trap skills aren't high enough for end game (at least on anything besides normal/casual).

    As Valindria said, your trying to do too much, scale it back and you'll make a much better build.

    If you're going to criticize a build, try to do better than make baseless hp/UMD/skill claims and have a better suggestion than just 'scale it back.'

    Hit points:
    260 base
    Draconic vitality: 10
    +6 Con item: 60
    Greater false life: 30
    Green steel: 45
    +2 Con tome: 20

    = 425 hp before Rage, ship buff, exceptional Con, etc. That's not an awesome total for high level content but what do you expect with 18 d6 levels?

    UMD:
    25 base
    +6 Cha item: 3
    Greater heroism: 4
    Focusing chant: 1
    Luck: 2
    Golden Cartouche: 3

    = 38. Add +5/6 for green steel and it's more than enough for useful scrolls.

    Disable device:
    28 base
    +15 DD item: 15
    +6 Int item: 3
    Greater heroism: 4
    Focusing chant: 1
    Luck: 2
    Ventilated bracers: 3
    Tools: 7

    = 63 which is enough for epic traps and that's before ship buff, exceptional Int, or green steel.

    Back to the build, I agree with Valindria to dump dex and use the points for strength or constitution. As a melee build, points can also be taken from charisma if they're needed to get str or con to the next bracket; 10 or 12 starting charisma is fine. Bard and rogue have good synergy so I would stick with the rogue levels if you want a 'utility player' type character.

    Valindria also makes good points on enhancements. Focus on maximizing the effectiveness of songs and Wand & Scroll mastery. As a splash build, your healing capacity from SP will be limited and Heal scrolls will be your best friend when you're asked to help out the dedicated healer.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Mostly I am looking for something new to try. So I am playing around with the character planner and reading about several different builds.
    I have max level pure fighter (kensai, but may switch to stalwart to try), barbarian, rogue (assassin), FVS (evoker) and Spellsinger bard. All human except the Barbarian, he is a half orc. So I am looking for something new to try. Was never big on Arcane castes in PnP.
    As far as rogue skills goes, my Disable device, open locks and search are very nearly the same as my pure rogue, according to the character planner.

    Any other thoughts?


    Is the halfling Hero's companion worth taking? Should I drop that in favor of wand and scroll use?
