Game not closing correctly

So, while testing on Lamannia I've run into a slight problem, whenever I close the client, no matter which way I do it, the game crashes, giving the annoying permanent gamma increase problem(if anyone else gets that).

Anyone else getting this?

Windows XP 64 bit is my operating system if it helps.

*edit* not going to bug report this till I know if it's a local problem or not. Oh, and I do not have this problem on Live.

I'd have to check source control (which I'm not going to do right now because I'm at home), but I believe the fix for this went in after the last Lamannia update, so it should be better with the next update.

I had this happening as well. I thought it might had just been me though XD My computer acts funny sometimes.

Yeah it happens to me too. not a big deal since it still closes, whereas sometimes on live the client just locks up for 30+ seconds before windows will ask me if I want to close a non-responding program.

When I close down, I get a black screen. If I immediately do a Control/Alt/Delete:

1) sometimes the game client goes ahead and closes out and I cancel the C/A/D window.
2) sometimes it's stubborn and I close the game client from the Task Manager.

In both cases, I don't get the screwy gamma issue afterwards.


Win 7, x64.


(edit: Perhaps the lack of Gamma issue is us not still using XP rather than method of game closure.)

same here, but no gama change

and anytime the ingame browser goes to photobucket or ddowiki it crashed
(ddowiki problem came after they implemented some google+ stuff)

Both times i logged onto Lamania, game crashed when I closed it. No gamma change for me though.

Have not been on Lam yet, not re downloading it this time around, but yeah, I get that annoying crash in live as well, the client stops working, and then the gamma increase on my screen, only way to clear it is to restart computer, and that only lasts until I have logged/changed zones about 10 times and it crashes again.

Would be really nice to have an update to the game that was nothing but pure bug fixes, the bugs are what is going to be the ruination of DDO's future imo, especially when devs are well aware/have BEEN well aware of the massive majority of them. Pushing out new content is amazing, it sets DDO a bit above most other mmo's I have played, but with each new content update comes even more bugs to add to the list.

It begs the question, just how long should the 'known issues' list truthfully be? Seems like the players have a longer list of known issues than the devs do.

No gamma issues, my account did get downgraded from premium to f2p after one of the crashes :/

Not yet. I'm unsure which support to contact as the downgrade only happened on Lammania.

At least that is a bright spot on the issue, as long as you still have prem on live servers. Did you bug report it(HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! I know right?) might not be a bad idea to just send a ticket to account management as well, doubtful they will help you in any way on Lam, but at least you will have a record on your end of the problem.

Actually come to think of it, it might have not been the crash. Do you know if the devs can downgrade your account for shadow humping them? (100% serious question).

I think the devs can do whatever they want to you at anytime they want it, and I make this response with no idea what 'shadow humping' is....... Oh the mental picture I get is so totally amazing I wish I could SS it though......

Time to use my google while I wait out my sands reset, lol

Kookie did not join me he halted me in place instead (5 - 10 secs). I think the devs need to lighten up a bit during the Lammania Dev Events .

Im greatful that they gave everyone xp and lots of loot, but they should have fun too (unless halting me was fun ^^)
