    Default Quivering palm for monks?

Hey I'm almost a level 12 monk and I was searching for skills to look forward to in my later levels. I saw quivering palm and was wondering if it's as good as it looks? I'm going to assume that ToD is probably alot better.

DC for both is based on WIS. If you have a high WIS both are good. If you have a low WIS neither is especially worth having.

I used QP in Shroud 1 & 2 and in Meridia. It seemed to work well thru all of that content. Beyond that it became a bit more iffy.

I can still land quivering palm on some epic mobs with low saves, but it isn't very reliable even with a 30 or 32 wisdom. It's very effective in Vale, but in Amrath I would expect a lot of things to save against it.

this is the case with most monks. but if you're a wisdom based monk you should be able to get QP landing the majority of the time, especially on caster type enemies

idk, my Monk's first life he had 20 Wisdom and I would say QP hit about 50% of the time in Amrath. Or I'm just very lucky lol

If QP fails, it fails; if ToD fails, it still does 250 damage and can double or triple.

ToD is worth having even if you dumped WIS.

While your observation about failures is correct I'm not certain that your conclusion regarding ToD is accurate. There are many advocates of taking the light path who view the 250 damage as not Ki efficient.

My personal view is that monks should not dump WIS. Players should understand the relationship of WIS and CON to Ki and give adequate attention to these stats. Failing to do so, IMO, hampers many monks.

I'd say it is not wise to dump WIS.

I don't advocate dumping WIS, either, and while 250 might not be ki efficient in comparison to smite tainted, that is not the only consideration in taking dark path, and if you are going dark anyway, you really should get ToD, no matter what your WIS is.
