Default TR'ing into Barb. Which weapon type to get?

Cygore, my WF Fighter, is unhappy because he sucks. This, in turn, makes me unhappy. He also wants more build points. Apparently 32 isn't enough for him. Fortunately, he is lvl 20 and TR'ing him into something else is an option. After reading thig build: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=323062, I thought that TR'ing him int a Barb would be the best option. I also thought about TR'ing him into a FvS, but I figured Barb was a better for now. I'll want to TR to FvS after the Barbarian life, however, and will be using Greatswords as a FvS.

Cygore is using Greatswords now. This is because I was planning ahead (and delusional) and thought I would pull a SoS relatively quickly. So now the question is: would it be better to work on crafting GS Greatswords (for use now and as a FvS, and as a Barbarian), or Greataxes (to use as a Barb)?

I hear that Greataxes are better for Barbarians, but I'll have to spend way more time crafting things. Would having a Greatsword on a Barb gimp him very much? Would it make all the elitist people judge and decline me when I apply to their LFMs?

The Greatsword Cygore is using now is +5 Metalline/Pure Good with an Icy Burst kit on it. Do I still absolutely need a MinII, or can I make a LitII first? (Be it a Greatsword or Greataxe.)

    Any info will be appreciated

IMO it doesn't make sense to craft a great axe. You have said you will be going FvS and use great sword in the end, so by all means works towards that end. You will do fine with the great sword on barb, no one is likely to complain about any dps difference you may or may not have based on your weapon type

Personally if you were not planning on running a lot of raids on elite, I would also go for the lit2 first.

The difference between falchions, great axes and great swords is close to negligible. Falchions perform the best against 0% fort enemies, which is most enemies. Great axes perform the best against 100% fort enemies, e.g. undead, constructs, and great swords are sort of the middle ground.

I'm not really sure why you want to go barbarian next life; the difference in DPS between fighters and barbarians is also very small. The reason your dps might be low is because your weapon isn't great A +5 holy burst weapon would be better.

If i were you i would craft a lit II great sword and craft/buy a holy silver of lawful outsider bane great sword for bosses. I'm not sure what the barbarian past life is for other than the extra 10 hp.

One of the reasons why I'm leaning towards TR'ing is because I want this toon to be my completionist...eventually. I realize the DPS difference between Fighter and Barbarian isn't that great, but my AC is a bit on the low end right now and I just die waayyyy too fast. The Barb playing style seems to be more to my liking, from what I heard. The +1 to-hit from a Fighter past life would also benefit.

I'm glad to know I won't get pòòped on too much for using a Greatsword as a barb, though. LitII Greatsword is next! ...Well, after my Wizard's +Int item anyway XD

EDIT: LOLOLOL IT CENSORS THE WORD PÒÒP??

EDIT AGAIN: And even censors it if you use zeros as o's. Wow. Imagine how much less bugs there would be if the same amount of effort put into censorship was instead put into bug fixing >_>

    a) Good choice, like the other guys said, greatsword and greataxe damage is negligible

    b) If your play-style is inducing quick death, switching classes into a barb will not resolve this issue. Maybe except if you choose to TR into a FvS, but that's a different type of play style all together.

I mean I tend to prefer having high HP :P

I just can't get my AC high enough for it to matter as a Fighter. Switching to Barb would give me a lot more HP and other benefits that I could use to stay alive instead of just AC. Play style probably wasn't the right word to use. In my defense, though, I'm drinking >_>

There's no reason why a fighter can't have high hp. Yes it probably wont be as high as a barbarian but then you don't have to hurt yourself every time you activate frenzy or hit enemies.

You have plenty of extra feats as a fighter to pick up several toughness feats. Past level 14 I would just forget ac as well.
