Can't log on on Sarlona server

I am able to log on on Orien, Ghallanda or Argo servers but not on Sarlona. I get to the character selection screen, select any toon, hit Enter, then game client stalls at load scren to finally show a popup that reads Game error: The connection to the server has been lost!, with an Ok button that throws me back to desktop time and time again. Edit: It seems to happen to just one toon, the rest apparently can log on normally. I logged on with the glitched toon, joined a shroud LFM, went from kundarak bank to the marketplace and got stuck at load screen. It's been 2 hours now and still can't log on with that toon.
Similar thing happened to a different toon. Toon took teleport from ship to The Twelve, and again game client got stuck at loading screen, then throws error message, then out to desktop.

SOLUTION: TheDearLeader was right, it was a temporary files issue. Apparently, Disk Cleanup didn't delete temporary files from DDO client, which (in case this helps someone else with the same issue) happen to be stored in the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Turbine\DDO Unlimited\browser\TWebBrowser\Cache
This is, if you are using Windows Vista and use the default installation folder. I manually deleted these files and I could log on with my glitched toon.

During the loading screen, try typing /death and see if that does anything for you.

It's been reported to happen a few times in the past on the forums. You can try searching to find out how it was resolved by them.

This happens to me sometimes, but I do not get thrown out of the game like you.

I just type /logout and it ''reloads'' my character. If that dosent work I have to restart once or twice.

Thank you for your replies. Neither /death nor /logout worked though. I'm going to try to reinstall the game client, though I've read people saying it worked for them and others said it didn't.

Reinstall the client, and also delete any temporary files you may have. I use CCleaner to accomplish this, although you can do it the old-fashioned way using Disk Cleanup if you wish. Make sure to get rid of all Interenet Explorer/Firefox Files. I've found when I'm having issues, this helps.

Thanks for your help. I just came back from my weekend away, reinstalled the game client (which I had left being downloaded from ddo.com), cleaned temporary files using Disk Cleanup, and it didn't work. I downloaded the latest drivers for my Radeon HD5770 (very doubtful the issue is graphics related, but just in case), and the game still can't load the first toon that got stuck at the loading screen. I even tried disabling McAfee firewall and on-access disk scanner... nothing.
I am running out of ideas.

Perhaps it could be useful if a mod could move this thread to the technical issues subforum, so that other users can find it more easily. And thanks again to those who posted a reply
