So, with the small tastes we are receiving about pets, I would like to make this suggestion...time to retool Ranger into its more proper PnP counterpart.
Let's remove Bow Strength and instead give them the ability to have animal companions that evolve as they do, per PnP rules (adjusting for the limits of an MMO, etc.).
Allow all composite bows to use the strength modifier of the wielder (as per its PnP counterpart), decrease the drop rate of said items, and/or give said items limits on the strength that can be applied via the enhancement bonus already present on the bow. In addition, if going the latter route, include composite bow drops, albeit rare, with exceptional strength drops, for those of us that quickly advance our strength modifier beyond +5.
Composite bows should also have a longer range if I remember correctly, and from what I can tell, range isn't really something that is considered too much in DDO, or maybe it is and I just am not experiencing it.
IMO, if there are no difference between a normal and composite bow currently, then I am not sure why the two exist.
