    Default Bravery Bonus For All

It should be available to all regardless if you vip or not. It should not be a VIP only perk. I have read multiple threads on this and heard all arguments and can agree with both sides. VIPs that pay for subs and buy extra hair dye, armor kits, xp pots, and etc spend just as much if not more than premiums that own all content and make similar extra purchases. Therefore end up being equal in monetary value. Of course, there are the other extremes where VIPs only buy subs and nothing more and premiums that buy only the smallest point pack. How to make this even out seems to be the problem. I have posted my solution in a couple threads but am sure it will go unnoticed by all the "who has a bigger e-peen" based on who spent more.

    MY SUGGESTION:

It is rather simple if you ask me. Let premiums that own all packs and thus all quests open said quests on all difficulties. Once a new pack is introduced they lose that perk until they purchase the new pack. Sort of like a completionist for owning packs.

VIP can still feel special over the premiums that spend little money. Whereas premiums that spend a lot of money to own all the content get similar perk. To the VIPs saying that premiums can favor farm to buy packs or get a guildie/friend to open elite are naive. We are premium and made the purchases because we do not want to waste our time favor farming for a measly 25 TP for every hour, if you get it that fast. Just not an enjoyable way to play that game at all. To the other suggestion, of getting a VIP to open elite for us is equally ludicrous. Most people do not want to beg for people to help them and that is a form of begging. Oh please Mr. VIP open this quest for us little peasants on elite. Get over yourselves.

Lastly, elite unlock is not the only perk VIPs get. It is funny how you forget how much you really get and thus do not completely understand just how much it costs premiums to keep up with VIPs. You get all classes and races excluding the favor based drow and fvs, all content with early access to new content, 500 TP a month to spend, 10 character slots, and shared banks. Go ahead cancel your sub and purchase all of that like a lot of premiums have done and then tell me how you fell about spending hundreds of dollars on a game only to have someone that puts $10 a month get more benefits than you. I guarantee you would not like it either.

Hopefully ending up near the top of this so I don't start another thread...

In another thread I replied to I suggested a reasonable metric be found to reward Premium accounts that have sunk a fair amount of money in DDO. There should be a range so that someone who buys the lowest amount of TP just to become Premium isn't "perked" as much as someone who has bought hundreds of US$s worth of points.

well i had to open another thread because of all the bickering and wanted the devs to see my suggestion. who wants to read 20 pages of people going back and forth on vips deserve this and premiums deserve that. i would much rather no comments be made on this thread and just have the devs read it then have 1000 comments on who deserves more.

You can get the bravery bonus no matter your sub level. Just have an opener like people do already. I don't see how elitist you could be that you demand something you can obtain to become automatic.

Especially given that they did boost hard and elite exp boosting for first time by a bunch!

Bravery Bonus is not a vip perk.

I already answered why this is not an option. I do not stand on corners with my cup out begging for a hand out and why should I have to do that in this game? Begging vips who more than likely spent less on this game to help me. Just ridiculous.

In its current implementation it is. Even the dev noticed and mentioned it was not meant to be this way. No I will not provide a link to his comment find it on other threads.

Please do not flood this thread with all this circular logic that have flooded the other threads. I made this thread so that my suggestion actually has a chance of being viewed by the devs. If any one else wants to argue in circles please see the other threads. Thank you.

Seems simle yes, but sometimes when you have a limited amount of time to play waiting for someone to fill a group is not an option, and no gurantee that someone will volunteer to open it fo you.

Why waste my time, when I can actuall be in the quest doing the quest.'

Besides I think the way the have proposed the "Bravery Bonus" is slightly flawed. Right now someone can level their character up to level 4 or 5, and then complete some low level quests on Elite to get their "Bravery Bonus" ( Doesn't sound very brave to me).

I think "Bravery Bonus" should be given to people who run quests that are over their present level, so long as they are not being Power Leveled by a much Higher Character.

So if you run a quest 1 level over your current level you get a 5% Bravery Bonus, 2 levels over you get a 10% bonus and 3 levels over you get 20% bonus. ( Don't forget Hard and Elite quest are usually Higher levels then the Normal quest).
    Where is my GREATBOW???

What you're asking for here is that for people to not post to disagree with your argument so that the dev's will see this thread and think that your opinion is shared by the entire community.

    It's not.

First, this bonus is just that - a bonus. You don't have to have it. You don't have it now. If it were being added as a VIP only bonus then that would be something. God knows VIP is already a dubious value...it wouldn't have shocked me to see it added as a VIP only bonus. Or to add the new xp pots as a VIP only perk. You get the idea here...VIP's could use some more perks and an xp bonus of some type as a VIP only perk could actually make sense if implemented correctly.

However, that's not even the case here. If even one person in your group can open hard/elite then you're set. You still get to keep your bonus going. The bonus isn't VIP only. It just requires someone that's able to open elite to be in the group.

For full disclosure, I actually support the idea of giving this perk as an earned perk in 2 cases. 1) Hard opening for TRx1, Elite for TRx2+ and 2) As a server-wide favor reward at an extremely high level of favor (3500?). Even though it's currently a VIP-only perk to get it automatically I think it's legitimate that those two groups receive it as a reward. The former group needs the extra xp to level. The latter group has obviously run everything (or close to everything) elite already and shouldn't have to reopen it on normal on new toons.

Sorry to disagree with your 'posting ban' for dissenting opinions but I can't accept the viewpoint that anyone that disagrees with you is disallowed from speaking their minds.

This is a new approach to unlocks, and I like the creativity.

I do have a couple issues:

    1. Would you be happy if only hard unlock was gained in your scenario?

    2. Do you feel that this resolution is too restrictive, ie some players do not care for certain content, and this solution forces them to make purchases they might otherwise not?

    3. How would you feel if something similar to your suggestion was implemented, with the limitation that you could not use unlock power for anyone other than yourself (ie solo only?)

I won't label this as a question, because I don't want to detract from the suggestion you presented, but I had a terrible time finding it the first read. A little formatting of your first post will go a long way towards the visibility that you mentioned wanting...

Uh, Neither do I. If Elite is what I want to do, then I have done hard already. If I pug up with someone with elite open, then that is icing on the cake.

I don't agree with your suggestion as it doesn't apply to enough people to be relevant. That is why I am standing against it.

Also, a few breaks in your wall of waste would be good to help make it digestable. Even after reading it, all I see is the same 'I am not included' complaint.

I am starting to hope that Turbine just scraps the whole "bravery Bonus" thing. It is causing too much drama, too many whine fests (on both sides of the argument), and frankly, I am getting tired of it.

I like the idea of the Bravery Bonus, but I refuse to comment on the proposed implementation untill we get more info from Turbine.

Forum drama isn't a reason to scrap a new feature. People would whine if Turbine started direct depositing money into our bank accounts because the exchange rate is different for some countries than others. There would be arguments about whether Canadians should get the same amount of money as US citizens or less based on whether they should adjust for the relative values of the dollars or give everyone the same amount.

As I've said in many of the other nerf and drama threads...

This is why we can't have nice things.

I know it is not a reason to scrap it, that is why I said "I am starting to hope". I just get annoyed at all of the over-blown comments from both sides of the argument. Both sides have good and valid points, and both sides have people that consistantly avoid admitting that the other side has something to offer. I am not pointing fingers at anyone in particular, just commenting on what I have been reading.

First I am not asking people to not post to disagree. I am asking that people not bring in this thread the same circular logic that plaques the other threads. Which you have done like the others before you. It is a bonus... yes. The dev wanted all to get bonus... yes. It ended up being a VIP only bonus... yes. The dev admitted so. To rely on someone to open to get said bonus..... no. Not fair and not just. Especially for premiums that spent more than VIPs because they decided this was a good month to finally buy a sub. Get real. I don't mind if you disagree with my suggestion. Just say so.

    My suggestions is as follows:

BUY ALL PACKS GET ALL DIFFICULTY UNLOCK.

    1. If hard why not elite? What is wrong with being able to open all difficulties if you own all the packs?

    2. No I do not. I think it is a fair compromise between VIPs that spend money every month and those premiums that spent that large sum up front. I do not feel like a simple $5 purchase to become premium would be fair to gain elite open.

    3. That would not be a bad idea also. I would go for this because I really only care about unlock capabilities while soloing.

Bit of an ego on you huh? What makes YOUR suggestion the be-all end-all solution for this alleged problem? So much so that you can't be bothered to put it in a thread that you didn't start?

I can tell you right now I didn't bother to read your initial post because its just a big chunk of text with poor formatting.

If VIPs are so vastly superior, why aren't you one? You bemoan "spending hundreds of dollars on a game only to have someone that puts $10 a month get more benefits than you." So why DID you spend 100's of dollars on a game if you could reap, according to you, better benefits being a VIP and paying $10 a month. Sounds to me like you have sour grapes syndrome because you bought content/races/classes permanently rather than renting it like a VIP does.

For the record, I'm a VIP and I love it. For all the reasons you listed: Access to all content, access to all races, access to all classes, elite unlock, 500 TP to buy XP pots with and 10 character slots. I LOVE it. That's why I'm VIP.

Don't be mad at me because I chose a different payment method than you. If you really want elite unlock, buy it in the store. Or become a VIP and get it for the price of your subscription.

The more I think about it, the more I think this is really a non-issue. Realistically, this is mostly a TR perk. After level 4, how many quests can you realistically run on elite at level or 1 level over? Butcher's path elite is a level 4 quest, but take a first life level 5 character SOLO in the quest and let me know how that works out. Take a level 6 in, and you start wiping out the 'bravery' bonus xp.

I also believe (based on the "redonkulous" trap damage post) that mobs in elite are going to get a boost. Elite traps got a boost to damage, and I think the mobs will follow...it is, after all, elite.

To get this bonus, I don't think you're going to be able to solo the quest at a level where the bonus will matter.

I see no reason to get really upset over this issue yet. As others have mentioned, the Dev's are looking at it. Everyone just relax, play the game, and have fun!
When and if it is actually implemented in the main servers, then everyone will have a reason to debate it's fine points. Until then, it's just much ado about nothing.

(I'm not saying that we shouldn't voice our opinions on upcoming changes, I'm saying that this particular issue has been argued ad-nauseum and since it's in the Dev's radar, let's wait and see.)
