DX10 & 11 Resolution Problems

For some reason, whenever I select either DX10 or DX11 to run DDO, it won't let me choose a resolution that fits or looks good on my monitor. I'm running an ATI 5700 HD Graphics card, with a widescreen TV in HDMI mode, and it won't let me choose widescreen resolutions, so everything looks huge and squashy.

I don't have this problem with Age of Conan on the highest graphics settings, or any other game I've looked into. Any advice would be great.

Your right. DX9 seems to restore all my video resolution options to the same that are available to Win7 device driver. I'm using an Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 and had only three or four options topping out at 1368 x 786 while using DX10 or 11! Could hardly fit my bars. :P

My old video card was an ATI Rage Pro x3200 I believe and it didn't have this problem with this very same install of DDO and windows.

For now I guess we use DX9. :P I feel like i'm back playing beta. But at least my UI can fit. Thanks for the info on DX9.

DX10/11 doesn't appear to have been implemented well; I get crashes in DX10/11 and can't alt-Tab/ctrl-Esc either.

I'm fully aware this is an old topic, but having the same issue. Posting dxdiag later on. Also, frequently while playing (with DX9 enabled as other options are grayed out for me) I get absolute black screen on few seconds (about 3-5) and then it goes back to normal. Keeps happening though, in random intervals.

That worked, my DDO is now properly running with DirectX 11 enabled, huge thanks, ArgentMage. Will test it for black screens later on and post here if it helps or if it doesn't so I can keep looking for a way to fix it.

Obligatory anecdote: I was telling some of my static group about the troubles I had
with DirectX 10/11 and how I fixed it (I had been running XP/DirectX9 until very
recently), and half of the group had the same problem.

Some of them had been running DDO for more than a year without DirectX 10/11,
because "it's grayed out". So it's not at all an isolated problem, and I think most
people assume it's a DDO bug, when it's a Microslop bug.
