Shard of Xoriat bug

Just picked up my first one, and the 1st 2 clicks do not summon a monster. Just causes a translucent purple shield graphic to temporarily appear on my character. Third use summons a monster.

Also, can't summon an elemental using the cove gems at the same time- the ele makes my Xoriat monster disappear. I assume this is WAI, as you usually cannot summon 2 things at once normally, but thought I'd mention it.

I hope it can be fixed, as I hear these things are hella hard to get

Ive found that this happens when you have the Mantle of the Wordshaper equipped at the same time you used a charge. It eats up a charge off your mantle and you get no summon monster.

The same issue occurs with Roderic's Wand. The Mantle of the Worldshaper and the Pale Lavender Ioun Stone both will treat their activation as a hostile action and block it. It's one of several bugs with spell absorption.

Note that due to the way these work, you CAN use a Roderic's Wand or a Shard of Xoriat to summon creatures into areas that you normally can't summon, such as inside the tent in Under the Big Top.

Yup- that's gotta be it! Thanks guys. I have had my mantle on since I got it this life, and only capped yesterday so still have it on. Will confirm at next available opportunity
