Whisperdoom trivia

It is a matter of pure trivia, but conjecture it most certainly is NOT. Those who claimed Whisperdoom in part 4 of Splinterskull was unkillable are wrong. Phunk's air savant conducted a little test for me, bringing her down solo on normal and elite.

Which leads one to ask, could a melee or group of melee types do it. Interesting little DPS test. Pardon if it's already been done....

heh, i've killed her before. with my level 20 caster. and a lot of disintegrate.

she's not unkillable. just really really really really really hard to kill. the first challenge to overcome is finding something that will actually damage her ^^

It was done back in the day so they made her much harder to kill (as she currently is). It has been a few years so I can't remember all of the specifics but I do remember a group of us giving her a beat down with just melees.

yea killed her many time in melee, as early as lvl10. Wounders were effective years ago.. now a days you just need a ton of dps.

Killed her with an AA....but took a lot of 20s in a row for Slayer arrows to overcome her regen.

Did you get a treasure chest back at her lair for killing her like most boss kills get you?

Yes, have killed her-there's no way I'm taking a toon back there and doing groundhog day for a screen shot. I think the fight went along the lines of..

-Swing.Take tiny part of health away. X 30
-Take healing potion.

Repeat.Repeat.

On a related note, I recently ran the catacombs way above level for favour. Could not even scratch the wraith, marguerite. Anyone ever killed her?

ya. i took both my sorc and nuked the living hell out of her

took my pally in there and beat here down. she has some serious damage reduction! most of the damage was from smites and sacrifices.

In the part where you are escaping her (Setting the Wards: Patriarch's Crypt), I was helping a friend with his favour on my capped Cleric. I used my Eardweller and spammed every heal and cure I had. Got her down to half health after several 1k+ heals and 500+ cures, and then she would regen all of the damage in one shot. This was pre-u9, so no DoT's.

Probably possible with triple stacking DoT's, then a coordinated nukefest with a bunch of divine or arcane casters.

In the long long ago with the first Sunblade I had ever seen.

Used to grant double actual weapon damage in bane damage (calculated before DR) instead of just 1d10+4. Tore her up rather nicely.
