    Default Runearms (= Runestones?)

I have seen one Runearm on the auction house already named "Thought Spike":

    Are Runearms equal to Runestones?

    From the Release notes:
Special Runestones are now available exclusively thru crafting using Cannith Crafting devices. These magical stones allow characters to debuff enemy targets. There are three different types of runestones, and they come in four strengths.
Anyone have other screenshots from either of them?

I went into the crafting hall to find out what the runestones are. There are 3 flavors (one for each school) at 4 power levels. They are consumables created at the shard altar and are BTA. So far, the crafting limit is set at 75 and nothing is showing up on the unbound altar.

    The three effects are:
    Arcane: Stun - 6sec
Divine: Blind with a chance for a daze
    Elemental: Petrification - 20 - 30sec

The higher the power level, the higher the DC on the effects.

Basicly, they sound like a mix of grenades and clicky casting

    Yea pretty sure
rune stone = rune arm = arm cannon.

All thingers that fit in the offhand.. And let u use mainhand for an xbow, or aparently a bastard sword too for some kinda special pre option perhaps.

Rune Arms are definitely different from Rune Stones as some have posted. One is a "weapon" for the new class arriving sometime in this preview for update 11 and the other is a craftable consumable for everyone who can craft it.
404error shows up in dev tracker. He may not be a developer by job title, but 'dev' is easier to type than 'Miscellaneous Official Turbine Representative'.

Just tried out one of the runestones.

Basically just clickies that either stun, blind, or petrify. They're fairly cheap to make, so might not be unheard of to expect people to have a stack of these. Only downside is the cooldown (and potentially the DC).

Still, that blindness will be very useful for low level rogues.

They might be nice to have, but expecting people to level crafting is pushing it a bit.

The basic ones have a sucess rate of 65%. Crafting them successfully just 5 times boosted my level up enough to get to 100%. So it's not too prohibitive to start anyway. I didn't check to see if unbound versions could be made.

where is the expectation that everyone will have this?

everyone *can* have it if they want. if you don't want it, don't make it. problem solved.

Or anybody else that likes to watch otherwise danced/stunned/petrified mobs slide around

Bet you the elite will want people have to these. (Depending how useful they are.) Similar to how they want people to have Tier 3 Greensteel items before running the Shroud.

Like I said though, they'll be easy enough for anyone to make for the basic ones I saw. Usefulness is still yet to be determined.

those aren't the elite. the elite don't care what you have, because generally speaking if they don't know you you're not invited anyways.

those people demanding you're epically geared for trivial content are the incompetent who need others to cover for their uselessness.
