    Default New (non-Cannith) Crafting

Swung by House Cannith and peeked into the crafting device, and saw some nifty things:

    1) Crafting traps/grenades no longer requires soul gems. Cool - this means I might actually make some on my rogue at some point. No word yet on whether they've been upgraded enough (if at all) to be useful, but definitely worth checking once my character copies. They use lesser essences instead - excellent change, it might encourage somebody to actually use them.

    2) +1/2/3/4/5 Thieves Tools are craft-able. Take a few trap parts, add a +1/2/3/4/5 weapon, and voila! Cool, I guess, although I never run out of +5 tools to begin with.

    3) "Module Construction" for upgrading Iron Defenders? Magical handwraps + mechanical trap parts. Oh yay, I can feel the Grease DCs shooting through the roof

    Better. Makes sense.

But now Rogues will be making traps at the expense of crafting XP. Not too crazy about that. :/

Maybe give Rogues some crafting XP to make essences required traps?

Seems like it would be more consistent if they required the +5 Spirit Essence rather than just a +5 weapon. I carry around Spirit essences in my ingredients bag, I don't carry around useless +5 weapons (they get deconned. )

Looks awesome. Soulgems were rather ridiculously rare for a "fun" consumable.

    1. Wow, so much for my collection of elemental soul gems being useful ( but this is better anyway). Wish that was in the release notes.

    2. I think that's been out for a while.

    3. Artificer only? Or any Iron Defender?

Tools aren't new. They added those a little bit back. Not needing soul stones however is a great new change (one I suggested a couple times).

Not sure what the Modules will do exactly, but they sound neat enough. I kind of hope all people that use Iron Defenders will be able to upgrade their summons, but it might be an artificer only thing.
