Add multiple versions of the same weapons in for new items

I'm bored of looking at people with SOS's, Event Scimitars or whatever.

Why not (for future use) make multiple versions of the same weapon?
Ie instead of Having the SOS as a greatsword, you can have the item as a greatsword,falchion,or greataxe.
All would have the same stats,(it's magic after all) just different looks.
Same thing with any "new" Scimitars/khopeshes/etc. Have a morningstar/longsword/khopesh/rapier/whatever version.

Keep the stats exactly the same, just have multiple types of the base weapon available.
For epics they could even use the same shards/seal/scrolls

There is some amount of prestige in having an item that people can recognize on sight. Not so much for Minos or DT armor, but still some. I like having people see my gear and not have to question me before a quest/PUG.

When (if) they ever release Holy Avenger that is how I would like them to add it. Multiple skins (Greatsword, longsword, scimitar etc...) but the same stats (well 2 lots of stats anyway, 1 hander & 2 hander) despite the skin of the weapon with all racial weapon prestiges working on them.
