WF have more Con, DR, and aren't fatigued from raging.

    Horcs do more damage.

Soloing with ether requires Pots and/or a Hireling.

Half Orcs have 6 more Strength, with another +4 damage (for thf) on top of that. they have potentially more strength if weakened or several more action boosts due to half-orc rage-strength requiring action boost investment. Half orc has an easier early-game due to the ability to use heavy mithril armor where as the warforged is stuck with nothing....unless he wastes a feat on a body upgrade....wastes being the key word.

Warforged have about 20 more hp, or 40 if you really invest, and a few immunities that the half orc is likely to end up with anyhow on an item. Warforged also have absolute rage fatigue immunity where as the half orc does not get that until level 17.

Basically, for Barbarian, Half-orc have every advantage and absolutely no penalties. Warforged have very painful healing penalty, which is exasperated by the fact that barbs have huge hp pools.

totally unmodifiable differences, pros and cons:

    WF:
Potentially 4 more con, though due to AP restrictions usually just 2 more con
Immunity to Hold Person (all other immunties can be earned on the Horc via items)
Immunity to Rage Fatigue from level 1-16 (Horc gains this at level 17 however)
Effectively stuck using Bloodstone as WF can not use marilith chain
Ability to be repaired by arcane spell casters. this is occasionally valuable but generally overrated come end-game

    Half-Orc
Significantly more strength and +4 damage with two-handers
potentially more seeker damage with Emarilith chain
potentially more damage due to seekr on chest so they can use Litany or Bold trinket
    Significantly more healer-friendly
-1 skill point per level up
one more will save then warforged

Half-orcs win by a very, very long shot. They simply have no weaknesses. I still like Warforged, but that's more of a flavor thing. If you want to have the over-all most powerfull character you can make... Half-Orcs wins, the jury is long since in.
    Eulogy- oh ninety eight

WARFORGED DO NOT HAVE INNATE DR. AND WARFOGED ADAMANTINE DR ENHANCEMENTS DO NOT STACK WITH BARB DR.

HOs do more dmg (esp. THF) and suffer no penalty to healing, WF are more survivable (higher CON & HPs, WF immunities inc. fatigue so Rage never tires them, etc.). Basically when it comes to max melee DPS, the answer is (almost) always HO.

[There are situations where a TWF HE w/rogue dilly will out-DPS a HO with the same build, IIRC; but those are outliers which shouldn't really count in most DPS discussions, IMHO.]

The next time Crystal Cove opens, any WF can make a Seeker +6 hat and use Greater Bold Trinket (+2 Exp Seeker). Still not as good as epic Marilith, but it suffices. [For Toughness item can use Thaarak Bracers instead of Minos; and WF can get by w/Moderate Fort instead of Heavy.]

Don't discount the Docent of Defiance as well. That's 10 more dr than if you're constantly stoneskin'd and has no equivalent on the fleshy side.
