More boring VoD Stuff

So I keep seeing all these solo vod and tod and **** done by FvS or wf casters..... I mean, thats cool, grats and all that. Try doing it with someone who cant heal themselves with scrolls, wands, or spells tho. Just 1 finisher at a time. This isnt really a big deal, But I never see anyone post " I soloed VoD with my Melee char who has no UMD and cant cast heal or reconstruct blah blah blah. I didnt even use heal pots. This was 3 lives ago i think, was still using handwraps. Also used some vorps for trash. When vorps were still worth using, that was. Btw this was only on normal.

^^ unfortunatly Fists of light do not give u hp back when fighting sully, so the only healing i got this entire time was from the 3x light finisher. And even more unfortunatly, I just realized I cannot find or did not take a shot of the stupid xp report, so now im going to have to do it again, soon as i hit 20 again with him, prob like 15 days or so. Lame. Well whatever, there ya have it. Go solo vod with no real heals.

Lol yea its about a year old. Somethin like that anyways. Your dummy doesnt get auto crits anymore? Ours still does. Oh btw, i was refferring to how many damage bars i get( got ) on crits, not the # of times i crit in a row lol. But anyways, yea,our dummy still gets em after its been beaten down once.

This one is old. The most recent build for I was using for this character is on the custom char builds forum, Under the name jehuty shadowrunner, but i have since tr'd again.

Lol i love skeptics. Its not hard to do, so im not really braggin about anything a million people havent already done. But do me 1 favor. Look at my hair, and hotbars in the boat pic, which was taken in september of 2010, and then look at the hair and hotbars in the sully pic, which was taken i think in jan or so of 2011. Im sure there is a way to see the dates of them also. Prob by clicking on them? The grp i was in on the boat pic was a shroud, I remember that one because it was 21st that life, so right before i tr'd again. But whatever, I know what i did, and ill do it again and post another pic like I said, xp report and all. Just gonna take a litttle longer cause vorps kinda suck now

Vorps make a HUGGGE difference.. the trash mobs are waaaaaay harder than Sully himself. I'm currently attempting Sully with my fighter. Got him to 10% twice, but died to bats. My problem currently is I run out of ship buffs by the end of the fight due to how long it takes to kill trash. Try solo-ing Sully with your build the way he is now, with how vorps work now. There have been some high ac self healing melee builds posting about doing this though (pally/monk and exploiters).

Reality is you're just using fists of light (or the finisher) to get your hp back. You could even use some sort of vampiric wraps to get the health back. It's not like you went in there without self healing. The real difference is they're healing off a blue bar, you're healing off a yellow one. Also how much healing amp were you running?

Personally I've used chaosblades while tanking the reaver in a 4 person raid when the cleric went down.

I was waiting for someone without epic gear to do it. If you are all epic geared I would think it was rather easy to kill and survive raids 3 or 4 levels below you....made before epic gear came out.

Unfortunately, still waiting for the non-epic solos of vod, tod, etc...

Well, I could do that on my paladin. Only epic gear I had on him when I did it (and do the first two really count as epic?):
Epic Cavalier Plate
Epic Maybar Cloak
Epic Gloves of the Falcon
Epic Chimeras Fang

Actually, it might have been a little easier since my AC would have only gone down about 3-4 but my UMD would have gone up by 3....my UMD on heal scrolls would have been 90% then. The Fang wasn't a huge bonus either...any other Silver weapon would have worked just as well (and I have a few of them). My guy also is just a 32 point build with no past lives at all.

I agree. I was really wishing vorpal worked the same as before. The trash was just annoying with no quick way to kill them. Just keep DPSing them down down down.

Cool so we can't use level 20 gear, and maybe next we should not use level 20 toons cause they did not exist either. Maybe they can remove grazing hits and allow tumbling while chained again for us too.

So a melee soloing a raid 3 levels below them and doing the work of 11 others is not a challenge? Cool story. My 3 piece abashai set gave me +3 ac +3 str which was nice but with no chattering ring I break even on it, bit more str and dps in general but my weapons were OMG min 2.

As for the OP with the monk based healing it is ideal for in there since of course you are not going to run out of sp and monks have healing amp. There are also enough trash in there for FOL anyway since sulu by himself on you is not an issue unless you forget to renew dw. This does not invalidate the achievement on a melee but is not the fantastic I did it with no healing etc that is claimed.

Any melee doing this has done well. Will look forward to seeing your solo attempt.
