Default Top ten "Guilty Pleasure" Movies...

It’s been a while since I have done one of these...
And I think Koboldkiller, Or someone else... may have done this already...
(But I am too lazy to look... )

But I thought it would be fun to lighten up the boards a bit... So here goes...

We are going to delve in to you Deepest of deepest...Darkest of darkest. Guilty pleasure movies! We are talking about that movie or movies... that you pop into the DVD player (or for us old school folks who still have one... the VCR...)
On those days when you know you have several hours to kill... And know that no one; and I mean no one will see... Because you hate to admit it... But despite how bad or cheesy, you just can’t help but love the movie!

Or one of those movies that you can’t help watching, even if you only catch the last half hour... you just have to sit down and finish the movie... Yup... That one...

So it is time my friends, time to take the virtual Skeletons
(Or movies as it were...)out of the closet and come clean...

What would you consider your top ten Favorite "Guilty Pleasure" movies to be...?
So in fairness here are my Movies crosses to bear...

    Guilty pleasure Movies...

    1. Roadhouse:
With a great soundtrack some really good fight scenes...
this Patrick Swayze classic is just pure fun...
(I wonder how many lawsuits would he have had for assault...?)

    2. Commando: A Live action "Roadrunner movie..." But...
How can you not love lines like this...?
“These guys eat too much red meat!” and “I like you Solly that’s why I am going to kill you last...” Or the classic “I eat Green Beret’s for breakfast.”
    Ahhhh.... Goood times...

    3. Galaxina: An ultra classic Sci Fi epic and sadly Dorothy Stratton’s last movie.
This Science fiction classic has some of the funniest moments in history...
The joke with the "Blue Star" *ethereal music plays.... And everyone looks around...
Is just awesome, and Avery Schrieber was just classic...
Add to that a Western Themed Space Bar that serves Humans... On the menu!

I can't help but like this movie...

    4. Death Race 2000: The first one from 1974
with David Carradine as “Frankenstein” and none other ‘Sylvester Stallone’ *As “Machine Gun Joe” the turbo... Need I say more...?

    5. Meatballs: A great camp movie; and Bill Murray was Hysterical and at his Manic best...
    6. Back to School: I think this was Rodney Dangerfield's best movie...

    7. The Waterboy: I know I know, but I can’t help my self... “You can do it!”

    8. 300: What not to like... Gratuitous... Uhhh “you know” And Action... Yup. It’s a total guy movie and if you just want mindless fun... it’s perfect.

    9. The Sweetest thing: Yes that’s right... I admit it... What can I say...

it’s a great road trip movie and some of the scenes are just priceless! When Selma Blair is in the cleaners has that ultimate awkward moment when everyone NEVER want to shows up at the exact worst time! It is about hysterical!... **

    And Last but not Least...

    10. Silverado:
It is a great western Movie with just the right blend of fun and Story. Two brothers headed out west and get caught up in a Land war... it is filled with great Stars like
Scott Glenn, Brian Dennehy, Kevin Costner, Kevin Kline, Linda hunt, and Danny Glover... It’s one of those movies I can’t help but watch...

So there it is, some are good some are... not so good...
But they are all so much fun to watch, I can’t resist...
What are the movies that as bad as they may or may not be... you just can’t help but watch...?

    Let’s be honest now...

    And Most importantly...

    Have fun!

This is my "OMG! You're a heterosexual male and you watch these?!?!" list:

    1) The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (i'm a sucker for Sandy and Dame Maggie)

    2) Stepmom (I'm a sucker for Susan Sarandon)

    3) The Princess Diaries (I'm a sucker for Julie Andrews)

    4) Hairspray (Edna is one of my dream theatre roles)

    5) Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (there was a day where I sat down and watched the first two seasons back to back.)

    6) Miss Congeniality (see reasoning for 1)

    7) The Notebook (I'm a sucker for ... I'm just a sucker, period.)

    8) The Last Song (See reasoning for 7)

    9) Any Hallmark channel movie (because I like to cry and eat Haagen Daas by the pint)

    10) Prozac Nation. (I was looking up quotes online, and I found a quote from the book. I was very intrigued, so I went swashbuckling on a certain site, looking for an audiobook, and I found a movie with Christina Ricci instead. So mindblowing)

I have no guilty pleasures, movie or otherwise. If I do something and it gives me pleasure, I never feel guilty about it. If I expect to feel guilty about something, I do not do it -- at least not intentionally.

I certainly enjoy some bad movies -- "Starship Troopers" comes to mind, -- but no guilt is involved.

I do not think he meant guilt in a bad way.. I think he meant more of "wow, my friends are going to mock me to no end about this".. Does not mean true guilt is involved.

    -=-=-=-

    1. Back to the Future
    2. Star Wars (1 through 6)
    3. Dark Crystal
    4. Charlotte's Web, Cartoon Version
    5. Bring it on
    6. Bill and Ted

My list is short as I do not own a lot of movies.. I will admit I took my kids to see the Smurfs this weekend, and it's hard to admit, but I kind of liked it.

You clearly miss the point of the exercise sir because every movie in that list is classic. Mel Brooks, Monty Python, Bill Murray, geniuses all of them...

If you like these you may like... "Hawk the Slayer..."

There are so many good ones out there that I couldn't think of when I was posting my thread... I mean...

    Batman
    Reign of Fire
    Jumaji
Zathura - jumanji set in outer space...
    The New Guy

    Among others....

The fun thing about this thread, at least the way it is intended is that...
When you see what others are posting you can laugh to yourself and think. "Heh, heh, yeah.... I watch that one too..."

    And that's the fun part...

There are clearly two distinct categories going on here. Those flicks you choose to watch with intent and forethought and might be afraid to let others know you intentionally decided to spend time viewing them, and those flicks that are on cable which hook you in every time you happen to click on them while tooling about the channels. The first part is hard to figure since most of the people I know have tastes which run in the same vein anyway.

The second category is the one more prone to getting a few "really??" type looks.

Road House, is one that I have clicked on and not left a number of times.
    Last Samurai, is another.
Despicable Me, is a fairly recent one...
2012, for all the over the top special effects
    Various Rambo movies
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly...(I actually own the Vinyl LP of the soundtrack...)
    Ferris Bueller...what can one say.
Flesh and Blood (Rutger Hauer and Jennifer Jason Lee)
Rush...love the soundtrack (own it) and it can just suck you into the mood
many obscure Fantasy titles if it has redeeming features...
    Sarlona - The Ko Brotherhood :Jareko-Elf Ranger12Rogue8+4E; Hennako-Human Cleric22; Rukio-Human Paladin18; Taellya-Halfling Rogue16; Zenako-Dwarf Fighter10Cleric1; Daniko-Drow Bard20; Kerriganko-Human Cleric18; Buket-WF Fighter6; Xenophilia-Human Wiz20; Zenakotwo-Dwarf Cleric16; Yadnomko-Halfling Ftr12; Gabiko-Human Bard15; lots more

My list are from both catagories you list, they are also the movies that no matter what I am doing whether playing DDO or surfing the web or doing my online classwork, I can pop in the disc and not even have to look up at the tv to know what is going on.
