Wow. Some for sure repeats of mine I saw:

    - Big Trouble Little China
    - Four Rooms
    - Great Outdoors
    - Strange Brew
    - Fish called Wanda
    - Fifth Element
    - Better Off Dead

    Some of my own adds:

    - Captain Ron (Best movie ever, apart from Jaws)
    - North Shore
    - Tin Cup

Some I think that were added that don't fall under "guilty". These are seriously good movies that I watch with no shame

    - Super Troopers
    - Caddyshack
    - Pointbreak

The following movie I remember loving as a kid, but then saw it on TBS recently and was thinking that when I was little and made my parents watch it and said how awesome it was they must have looked at me with sorrow thinking I was "special"

    - The Bill & Ted Movies

Wow... out of all that's listed here, there's none that falls under the "I like it, but won't advertise it to my friends" category for me, so how about I fix that?

(Numbered in no particular order, just to keep myself as close to 10 as possible.)

    1. Dragonball: Evolution
    2. The Guyver
    3. The Guyver 2: Dark Hero (All-time favorite movie... of all time)
    4. The Ernest P. Worrell movies (Ernest Goes to Camp, Scared Stupid, and Goes to Jail in particular)
    5. The Relic
    6. Laserhawk
    7. Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God (Don't mention the first one around me. Even I say it's ****.)
    8. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
    9. Jumper
    10. Speed Racer

Special Mention: The Super Mario Brothers movie

Not quite a movie, but the old Megaman cartoon series, too.

LORD OF THE FRIGGIN RINGS TRILOGY ("friggin" not in actual title)

His name is Karl Urban. He's been in significant roles in the following moves:

    1. Bourne Supremecy
    2. Chronicles of Rid**** (I'd give you a pass on this one) [EDIT <------ lol it censored the last part of "Rid-d-i-c-k" silliness]
    3. DID I MENTION LORD OF THE FRIGGIN RINGS???!!!!

But you remember him from playing BONES!!!????????????!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!

What were we talking about again?

    :P

I am well aware of who Karl Urban is. He was also in the NZ TV series Shark in the Park, the movies Ghost Ship and Pathfinder. I had to do something that would somewhat set my list apart from others, and "forgetting" Eomir's real name would certainly get someones attention. +1 for the good natured nerd rage though.

    Default Awesome thread

Oh, some great ones here! I think my standards are too low - many of the listed movies are *classics* in my book, not guilty pleasure! Princess Bride, Monty Python (anything), Airplane, Big Trouble in Little China, Buckaroo Banzai - every adult American needs to watch these more often than they get tetanus boosters. Highlander is high drama. Star Wars is a cultural cornerstone of our society.

I do have some favorites so low that I am reluctant to share them even here. Favorites that I hide the cases and keep the DVDs in unmarked jewel cases with my music CDs, and will watch, even with commercials, when they come on TV despite the fact that I could watch them uncut and commercial free if I would admit to my wife that I own them. Yeah right, no taste and no shame either - here are my worst. No particular order.

    The Beast master
The Heart Bowman (actually titled something like "The Archer: Fugitive from the Empire" but broadcast in the 80s on TV as The Heart Bowman)
    Hawk the Slayer
    Heavy Metal (Hmmm, Big!)
    Wizards (They killed Fritz!)
Logan's Run (I actually became a fan of Shakespeare because I saw Roddy McDowel in this and when he was in The Tempest I watched it too because I liked him)
Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God
    Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King
Fast Times at Ridgemont High (No problem dude, my dad's a TV repairman. He's got this awesome set of tools, I can fix it)

These are truly awful movies, people. They should never be shown without 3 silhouettes at the bottom of the screen heckling.

The topic is movies you love but don't want to admit, but it's in off-topic chat so I have to go off topic - I've got to list a few that I love and don't mind admitting.

Highlander - my favorite movie ever. There should have been only one.
Every Tolkien (even the rotoscoped one from the 80's)
Every Indiana Jones (Indy, cover your heart!)
All the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns and Dirty Harry movies
Bladerunner (Rutger Hauer rocked, I even watched Flesh and Blood and Ladyhawke to see more of his work)
The Dune miniseries from SciFi from back when they were called SciFi and still broadcast SciFi
All of the Firefly episodes (Inara & Mal - one of the few heartbreaks that actually broke my heart)
All of the Dresden Files (especially Bad Blood "Thanks for the wine Harry" "But you didn't even taste it" "There, I just did")
The Matrix ("It's just one little girl, my men are bringing her down now" "No lieutenant, your men are already dead")
(Plus all of Don1966's list except Rambo 2. Scary)

By the strictest of definitions, none of these are guilty pleasures as I will readily admit to enjoying them. But I'll identify the ones I like that would get people's looks.

In the category of no seriously, I'm a straight guy
    1. Shakespeare in Love
    2. Stardust
    3. French Kiss

In the category of yeah ok I'm a straight guy, but I wasn't really planning to get laid anytime soon
    4. They Live
    5. Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust
    6, Cry Baby
    7. I'm Gonna Git You Sucka

And the final category, ok its probably socially acceptable that I like these, just not how often I've watched them
    8. Inside Man
    9. Serenity (or maybe I should put that in the above category)
    10. Shaun of the Dead (If you don't think thats socially acceptable, there is something wrong with you not me)
    Kobold never forgive....kobold remember waterworks.

Love the series. Even managed to find a copy of the pilot movie version of Storm Front (which was edited down and originally aired as the eighth episode). Got me reading the books, and I need to find more (only have a copy of Small Favor for now).

Mines easy and 10 movies doesn't cover it.

    1) Any movie that falls in the horror grouping. Starting with the full Nightmare on Elm Street series of movies.

    2) Any fantasy movie. This goup starts with the Harry Potter series.

    3) Any sci-fi movie. And I have to start this one with Logans Run.

    4) These would be followed by Rocky Horror, Heavy Metal, and any Montey Python.

    Beavis and Butthead Do America
