Beware Character Delete...

This is a new one...Didn't notice it yesterday when I turned in a lost bag/character undelete support ticket as well as a new support ticket on this one.

On the Character Selection window, when you highlight a character and click the delete button, a popup comes up with that characters name and requires you to type in that name to delete. Type in the wrong name and it's suppose to NOT delete the character. But if you put in the name of another one of your characters, it deletes them instead (actually found it did both on the latest test).

Example - Highlight Bob, click button, bob shows up in popup, type in Jane, and Jane gets deleted (actually both bob and jane are zapped).

Lost a character with a bag full of essences on this one yesterday and one with equipment today....Should have noticed it sooner!

Definately sucks how did it happen you were deleting a toon and typed in the wrong name? In the past when I have deleted toons Ive always been really careful to check inventory and all that to make sure i wasnt deleting anything I wanted and double checked the name and typing just to make sure I had it right got to be careful last thing you wanna do is find something like this out

I wonder if when you are TRing if you type another of your toons names it will TR them both.

Somehow bugs like that never help but only hurt so I doubt it.

Simple fix. DO not hit delete. Do not type in a character name. Do not play with fire.

That's only a feasable solution if someone comes up wiht a cure for alt-itis.

I tried this w/ two name-placeholder characters.
Nothing I did would get this to replicate. Simply put - when writing in the wrong character's name, the 'Delete' box never highlighted. I tried hard to see if I could duplicate this in any fashion, and came up empty every time.


Either the OP has an extremely bugged account or they made a tragic mistake. It'd take some crystal clear screen shots to make me believe this can be done causally.

Of course not, bugs that are beneficient to players are removed INSTANTLY.

I tried that too - no dice.
As I said, I tried hard to get this to work and simply couldn't.

I think Turbine offer an "undelete" option if you pay them about $20 or so.
