    Default Dear Khyber

I know this thread doesn't affect a lot of people, but for those it does please pay attention. I don't want your "it's just a game and I play it to have fun" builds who can't out dps a healing spec cleric swinging away with his mace in echrono...or pretty much any other group. I'll grumble internally about taking those toons on random epics, but for ones where dps actually matters....if you ever look in a mirror and say things like; "those guys take the game too seriously", "My build is a lot of fun even if it doesn't put out really good damage" then stay away please.

And for shroud...what is with you people? When you have two healers who are almost completely full on sp when the three bits of trash go down in part 5 what are you waiting for? If you don't have fire resist and freedom of movement complain to the healers/arcanes about it, but I promise...it won't kill you.

The rangers and pallys should be casting fire. Unless you happen to be one of those people who don't take them because you think only a fighter or barb can dish out DPS.
If the toon is named after a beer 17 of them are mine & 1 more not named after a beer (the black sheep of the family). Beware there are a few beer imposters out there. Unless the toon has been "Banned From All Guilds" it's a fake Beer_Dude. Fake Beer in your group leaves a nasty taste.

You will have to help me out so I dont accidently take my fun into your group, please define the parameters you use to determine what is "really good damage"

Im not sure what point you are trying to make here, if it is that you can attack Harry and it wont kill you, he will! and I dont like groups who constantly talk over each other asking for buffs, they go out one at a time and you have to be patient.

I play on Khyber all the time and I dont seem to run into these types of issues with the Epic pugs I get into and I hate to point out a simple fact that even the best groups will fail, things happen.

It is a game if you cant enjoy it with anyone in your group you might be taking it too seriously. IMO
Enjoy yourself your time on earth is very short.

    Try the following, in order..

    -adjust your LFM
    -adjust the LFM's you join
    -change your guild
    -change your regular playcrowd
    -adjust your expectations

To come on the forums and decry/bemoan people whose build/style ability you don't like is only going to start a divisive and unproductive thread.

You're taking this way too seriously.

    Dear person,

I'm not convinced of your ability to discern between the gimp and the exotic. Care to be more specific?

Hey! I dont have to take that from a clone...

If it makes you feel any better, this "its just a game" player hasnt even reached lvl 20 yet. I'm too busy having fun to focus on XP.
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

So you are saying that it is not just a game? And that you play it for reasons other than fun? I can't say for sure without knowing you better, but I suspect that you may be well-served by reevaluating your priorities.

I think playing the game for other, non-fun purposes might be against the EULA. OP had best be careful, if he wishes to continue his non-fun activities.

I'm stealing this from someone else's signature but I'm too lazy to find the quote and I really liked it...

DDO isn't a game it is my hobby and I invest a great deal of time and energy to it. So please don't tell me how I should be less serious.

No. What I'm saying is this: For people with bad builds, or who are just terrible players, stop expecting people to carry you through epics/raids. We've all seen them, we know who some of them are, and I don't enjoy wasting a half hour to an hour three times a day.

Pugging is a mixed bag, i don't think any amount of forum posts will ever change that. Have you considered joining a guild that scedules/runs raids on a regular basis? Normally we have 7 or 8 from guild when we run our raids and we will pug the rest, seem to have good luck this way(wish we had enough hardcore players to do pure guild runs all the time).

That makes total sense, but it is a two-way street. If I can't tell you to be less serious, then surely you can't justify telling me to treat this like something other than a game that is to be played for fun.

I feel compelled to point out that this rebuttal is not specifically directed at Eladiun, and is solely beginning from the context of the opening post criticizing the way that other people play.

I have to say, I've got a pretty decent Spellsinger (for all that's worth) but I'd rather fail a raid four times than become the sort of humorless wretch who considers failing a raid to be a waste of time. Or rather, to be MORE of a waste of time than succeeding at said raid. Either way, it's a waste of time. I've had more fun failing at DDO than all of my successes strung together.

Amen. And they definitely shouldn't laugh about it. That's right out.
