    Default Help with fighter feats

I'm trying to get more dps out of my HElf SD intim build. Without loosing my intim. I've got the enhancements pretty much set. It's the all these fighter feats that are getting to me.

The last three fighter bonus feats I take are cleave, great cleave, and quickdraw...

    My ability selection is:
    Code:
                      Starting Feat/Enhancement
    Abilities Base Stats Modified Stats
    (32 Point) (Level 1) (Level 20)
    Strength 16 26
    Dexterity 10 12
    Constitution 16 18
    Intelligence 12 14
    Wisdom 8 10
    Charisma 14 18
I dumped into int to get more skills: intim, jump, umd, balance.
I'd hate to be stuck with no jump or balance. Although at lvl 19, I'm not using umd that much... haven't played the toon enuf (other than harry/ziggy intimitanking) to completely work out the quickbar. And I don't have Morah's belt for +30 jump yet.

With pally dillys I have cleric lvl 4. I don't know how this stacks or doesn't stack with umd for things like raise dead scrolls - 65% currently.

I have enuf points to drop int and get dex for a TWF line as well as THF. Swinging 2 bastard swords is nice even without the TWF line. I can't drop cha. Don't want to drop str or con. Which leaves int/dex to play with.

And 3 fighter feat slots to fill - TWF line or 3 others of dubious value... This is an intriguing idea tho'.

    Here's my feat plan:

    Code:
Character Plan by DDO Character Planner Version 3.9.1
    DDO Character Planner Home Page

    Level 1 (Fighter)
Feat: (Half-Elf Dilettante) Half-Elf Dilettante: Paladin
    Feat: (Selected) Toughness
Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Two Handed Fighting

    Level 2 (Fighter)
Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Exotic Weapon Proficiency: Bastard Sword

    Level 3 (Fighter)
    Feat: (Selected) Toughness

    Level 4 (Fighter)
    Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Shield Mastery

    Level 6 (Fighter)
Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Improved Two Handed Fighting
    Feat: (Selected) Toughness

    Level 8 (Fighter)
    Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Power Attack

    Level 9 (Fighter)
    Feat: (Selected) Force of Personality

    Level 10 (Fighter)
Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Improved Critical: Slashing Weapons

    Level 12 (Fighter)
Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Greater Two Handed Fighting
    Feat: (Selected) Skill Focus: Intimidate

    Level 14 (Fighter)
    Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Stunning Blow

    Level 15 (Fighter)
    Feat: (Selected) Bullheaded

    Level 16 (Fighter)
    Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Cleave

    Level 18 (Fighter)
    Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Great Cleave
    Feat: (Selected) Toughness

    Level 20 (Fighter)
    Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Quick Draw
The yellow-colored feats are necessary for my intimitank build. I can't change these.

Any feat suggestions, especially the last 3 fighter feats, will be appreciated.
Anybody ever considered both THF and TWF lines? Since I'm LR'ing at lvl 20 I could just drop the THF line and squeeze in the TWF line. But that will still leave me with 3 fighter feats to fill...

If you want to tank with a shield, get Improved Shield Bash.

I really don't think you need Force of Personality. What Will saves are you ever subjected to? I would change that and the other Cleave to Weapon Focus and Specialization in slash to tweak up your weapon DPS a little.

Rather than trying to get TWF and THF, I think you would be better off just using a standard THF weapon when you want to do DPS. I have seen at least one build that had both, but it didn't have to worry about any shield/intim feats, so it had more flexibility than yours.

The dilettante acts as caster level, so it does not stack in any way with UMD ranks. You only use whichever method gives you the better chance.

4 toughnesses are overkill. sure HP are nice but dropping 1 or 2 isn't going to make or break a d10 hit die class with class and racial toughness APs
Move along , Nothing to see here

My current build has weapon specialization AND weapon focus feats... I think I got confused between specialization and focus when I drew up this new build and left them off. I wanted to remove focus...

Yes, 3 specializations to replace cleave, great cleave, and quickdraw and I'm good!

And consider toughness... I can use 2 - cleave and quickdraw to balance it out. I'm dropping the weapon focus line that I initially took.

    Thanks for the feedback!

What do you see yourself tanking?

If it's Horoth, I'd take as many Toughnesses I could get.

Currently I'm tanking ziggy and sally a lot. I'd like to be able to tank horoth - which is why I was taking more hp and getting more strength/hp. I've seen horoth tanked and if I can get better gear (as a first-lifer there's lots of quests I haven't done) my str will be up to actually putting out some dps if I solo tank him. If in a party I just need enuf dps to maintain aggro. I've watched spyderwolf's TOD videos.

My goal is to tank horoth. I have the intim, I'm working on str/hp to be able to be a good horoth tank. I may be able to simply respec my enhancements... I did this yesterday and took 5 toughness and 2 str. Better at the moment. But I do have weapon focuses that I don't really need.

As a first cut at an intimitank I'm really happy with it. At lvl 20 I want to respec (instead of TR). With some good equipment grinding I should be able to get him up there in dps/str and keep my 100% intim.

I have a question, and it may just come down to me being a noob, but why take bastard sword and the THF feats?

Is there something about bastard swords I don't understand?

I know that in the PnP version, B swords could be either 1 or 2 handed, but I didn't think that functionality was built into DDO.

Am I missing something? Is the B sword for when you SnB and the THF for when you go DPS?

Bastard swords (and dwarven axes) get glancing blows like a THF when you are sword & board... and Epic Chimera's Fang is getting a nice buff soon that's going to make it the go-to S&B tank weapon.

I get it now. Sorry, when I'm at work, I'm a bit slow on outside-work concepts, lol.

So the THF feats up the glancing blow damage from both Bswords and Daxes.

    Thanks.
