Fine your loot is your loot, but...trying to sell, then looting to destroy?

Lol ran a reavers a ranger pulled madstone boots.

He then said they are up for sale 1red.

No one said anything, everyone else rolled on the other stuff.

So he looted it.

He then told me after I had congradulated him that hes deleting the charactor he pulled the madstone boots on?

Hmmm ok fair enough trying to get something for his pull, but when it became obvious that no one was going to buy his boots, couldnt he at least of put it up for roll since hes going to just destroy them anyway? I mean you know he might want to roll on stuff in the future on other toons, but he wont be rolling on any of the loot I put up for roll. Just because no one bought them didnt mean no one wanted or needed them, there could of been newer players on there, who couldnt afford the 1 red scale. I didnt want the boots on the toon I was on, so meh no loss for me, but for the other melees in the party im sure some of them might of wanted madstone boots.

I mentioned the class, because when I saw that a ranger pulled them I thought he would be looting them, when he offered to sell I thought he already had one or more boots. Hey double madstone is nice.

I understand this post even less than most of Natural's or Weddingly's.

Nat didn't mention anything about wanting the boots, just that the boot looter seemed to be being over-selfish that noone would get their loot without paying something rather than just giving them to the winning roll. Otherwise it's someone who's never got the concept of rolling for loot and assumed that as noone offered the required price, noone wanted them at all.

I'd guess the latter from the OP but there are plenty of the former too.

Either way it was a heck of a waste....

Its sort of like throwing away food cause your not hungry right in front of starving people lol. Its pretty selfish, omg it would bee too much effort to just give it to them, so i will just put it down the incinerator, I mean they dont have any money on them to buy it, so its useless to me. .

If someone had wanted the boots that badly he should have opened his mouth and put a bid. Everything has a price tag, either investment of time, money or something else.

I would have been upset if he had put it on roll and then sold it (ignoring the rolls). Or if the one with the lucky roll traded it to someone else afterwards.

I've heard plenty of people who haven't gotten Madstones after their 40th run. It's kinda brutal.

That said, as far as loot selling - what if someone else really wants to buy your loot? Is it a bad move to sell it to them rather than putting it up for a roll? I've had that happen to me twice recently, and I figure it's not really that bad of a move.

nah thats a little extreme, starving people and life and death, but it doesnt frustrate me, just confuses me, I mean if i have something that im never going to use, and I cant get anything for it, and I think someone could use it, prob to great effect it would seem natural to me to just give it to them. Theres been cases where ive been too lazy to deal with the whole rolling thing lolz, and I have just stated in party chat leader giving these to you to put up for roll(or if i had to rush off to do something else, either the leader or someone I know in the party).. lol lazy I know.

I guess my point is what you just stated, its pretty selfish is all. But would I be out of place not letting this person roll on anything I put up for roll in the future, cause thats what I think I will do.
